Dark of Night

Dark of Night

Dark of Night Copyright 2019 Emily Goodwin Chapter One “What do you see when you look at this one?” The doctor holds up a card, showcasing an ink splotch that’s twisted and creepy, with eyes that follow you no matter where you go. I look at it, heart hammering away inside my chest. The mess of ink on the white paper reminds me of the monster that lurks in Nana and Papa’s basement, the one that tried to get Abby and Scott to go downstairs with it.

Fallen for the Dark

Fallen for the Dark

“The fire… it protects us as much as it consumes.” I trembled, heart racing, body alight. “Then… I’ll stay,” I whispered. “No matter the danger. No matter the fire. I’ll stay.” He smirked, dark, twisted, magnetic. “Good. Because once the fire has you… there’s no turning back. And you… you’ve never been more alive.” The fog swirled around us, curling like living smoke, isolating us from the rest of the world. Shadows pressed close, whispers lingered, but it didn’t matter. Not tonight. Desire and obsession had claimed me fully, and I welcomed it.

In The Dark

In The Dark

Here I was, nearing the end of my time in college, with no real certainty as to what the hell my next step was. I knew I wanted to get in government in some fashion, State Department, something like that. I knew it would happen or work out eventually, but right now I was feeling pretty low. And maybe that was the perfect time for a predator to seek me out. What if this guy was like Wyatt? I mean Haven said he was young and handsome, but everybody thought Wyatt was hot. I wouldn't even know it because we're going to be in the fucking dark. The idea of meeting a handsome stranger in the dark was kind of alluring to me I had to admit, but why not just ask me on a date?

Another good story by this author! I do wish there was a little more at the end because it did feel a little rushed. But other than that, I truly enjoyed reading this story. I highly recommend both stories by this author! They’re very detailed, flow perfectly, and keep you wanting more. Awesome job!

Literally one of the best books on this app. This is one of those few books that I could actually read again! Totally unique plot. You think it’s going in a certain direction and then it switches up keeping you interested. Total page turner. And FANTASTIC/SEXY love story!

A Dark Romance

A Dark Romance

They held my funeral on a drizzly day. Francis stood by the grave, decked out in a black suit, black umbrella in hand, his face a mask of nothing. The casket was sealed tight. After a fall from the 18th floor, there was not much left to show, and not even the mortician could work miracles. Nora was at his side in a black dress, her sobs barely a whisper. Bernard loomed nearby, his expression dark as storm clouds. The rest of the clans had shown up, pretending to grieve, but really, they were all watching to see if the Davis family would crumble, if Francis would break.

DARK SEDUCTION

DARK SEDUCTION

Still, the way he said it, like the words made me feel small. “Tell me, Snow,” he pressed, voice dipping lower. “What kind of books do you read?” My stomach dropped and panic fluttered in my chest. If he knew, if he even suspected. The facade I’d built so carefully for my parents would crumble to dust. He couldn’t know that behind closed doors, I consumed more dark romance and filth than any good girl should. The sound of the front door swinging open snapped the moment in half. I blinked, tearing my gaze away just in time to see my dad stride in. Relief flooded me so fast my knees almost buckled.

Lurking in the Dark - Book 2

Lurking in the Dark - Book 2

Reese pulled again, almost dragged me away from the stairs and led me through the underground corridor. There were no windows down here, just an old ventilation system that stuttered and supplied the air with oxygen. The part was broken so often that the temperatures down here were mostly sauna-like, but at the moment I didn't feel anything. My hands felt numb. My whole body felt numb. Not even Reese's presence could change that at the moment. Why? Why did something like this have to happen now, of all times, when my life was finally going on in a semi-regulated manner? Why couldn't I just lock the past in some dark hole so it could never bother me again? I just didn't get it.

The Pleasure Archive

But sleep didn’t come easily. In the quiet moments, fragments of memories flashed through my mind, the fear I once felt, the shame, the desperate need to hide. Now all of that had dissolved into something hotter, darker, and far more addictive. I was no longer fighting the fall, I was diving headfirst into it. And tomorrow, in the Black Chamber, I would discover just how deep this rabbit hole truly went. As the first hints of dawn began to creep into the club’s artificial sky, a final message arrived on my phone, left on the bedside table by an attendant.

Dark and Untamed

Dark and Untamed

The cold wasn’t just cold anymore. It was quiet. It was unforgiving. It was nothing. Estelle Winterbourne lay chained to the freezing snow at the heart of the Deadfall, and the snow had already buried her to the ribs. Silver burned under her skin where the traitor’s mark had been carved by her own father and lover. She felt empty. She felt numb. “ Finally got to get rid of you, Estelle. You have done well, you are no longer needed.” She still remembered the words that her mate, Darius said before plunging a dagger into back when she was unaware.
