Fallen for the Dark
“The fire… it protects us as much as it consumes.”
I trembled, heart racing, body alight. “Then… I’ll stay,” I whispered. “No matter the danger. No matter the fire. I’ll stay.”
He smirked, dark, twisted, magnetic. “Good. Because once the fire has you… there’s no turning back. And you… you’ve never been more alive.”
The fog swirled around us, curling like living smoke, isolating us from the rest of the world. Shadows pressed close, whispers lingered, but it didn’t matter. Not tonight. Desire and obsession had claimed me fully, and I welcomed it.
