The Dark soul

The Dark soul

She quickly skimmed over them before turning her blank stare back to the man in front of her. "Jared Knight, 26 years old, born and raised in the area, joined Golden Ridge at the tender age of 16 after your dear older brother joined." Summer began reciting what she had just read. "Golden Ridge is well aware to stay away from La Fiet given this is The Dragon Guards turf, so please enlighten me, why are you here?" "For fun." Jared snapped spitting out a mouthful of blood. Stepping forward Summer remained silent as this time she clamped her plyers on Jared's pointer finger.

Dark Enchantment

Dark Enchantment

Another room seemed to be a training ground, the air heavy with the scent of sweat and iron. Every step I took, every corner I turned, was a step further into the unknown. It was terrifying, yet each discovery, each piece of information I gathered, was a piece of the puzzle, a step closer to understanding what I had become a part of. And ultimately what I was up against. One thing was for sure, I was no longer the innocent girl who had been thrust into this world of darkness. I was Elara, a woman who had tasted dark magic, who had used her body as a weapon, and who was ready to face whatever lay ahead.

Claimed by the Forbidden Alpha: Wild Bond

Claimed by the Forbidden Alpha: Wild Bond

Dante Blackwood was the key to everything, the living trace of something ancient and fierce that claimed Blackwater as its own. As she walked back, feeling Dante’s golden eyes guarding her back, Helena knew that her curiosity had led her to the edge of reason. The signs were everywhere—in the deep claw marks on the oak, in the torn leather, in the feverish heat of his skin. The supernatural was no longer a town legend; it was the breath she shared with the alpha biker. And the abyss he had spoken of no longer seemed something to be avoided, but the only possible destination for someone who had been marked by the same flame that burned in Dante’s eyes.

Returning in Reverse After Betrayal

Returning in Reverse After Betrayal

Kael and Marcus exchanged a glance. This was worse than we'd feared. "One more question," Kael said, voice dropping to a deadly whisper. "How does she plan to capture Sophia alive in battle?" Drake laughed again, the sound hollow. "You think she'll fight fair? She has a monster. Created over centuries. Corrupted alpha fused with dark magic. Size of a building. Unstoppable." "We've faced monsters before." "Not like this." Raw dread filled Drake's eyes, the kind born from witnessing something unthinkable.

Hunters: The Prequel

She went on to say what she wanted to say. “There was a Mystic Path User whose power was legendary. Like other Mystic Path Users, his abilities were several notches above that of us New Types, and even among his Mystic Path peers, only a handful could match up to him. But he had an advantage over the few who were comparable to him in strength, and that advantage was his youthfulness. He was very young, the youngest genius our world has ever known. And there was no doubt that by the time he peaked, he would be the strongest warrior in the world, for he was already a Nightmare at the age of 35. It was an amazing feat, but there was no time for him to revel in his genius. He had barely been cro

I hope that’s not the end end. So many left off pieces of the story all his friends on the other world, all the other gods story lines, he’s only used his blood born weapons and armour twice. Hasn’t even made it out of dreamscape yet. Still have everything in true verse going on while he “asleep”

Bound by the Moon, Fated by Destiny

But this was utterly different, if he wasn't smart about this, he would be endangered too. Warning his Davina and letting her escape this time would be easy, yes, but it wouldn't guarantee more wouldn't still come after her. And soon, will come the suspicions. It would only be a matter of days before everything is linked back to him. He released a silent breath. This woman shouldn't be messed with. Benjamin knew, this newest conquest of Darwin's was far much dangerous than any witch he had met. And it turns out he was right. She's different, she uses a magic so foreign and dark. He had never felt any essence so black as coal, even darker and vile than his. But Davina is a complete opposite,

Alpha’s Glitch: The Dragon Architect’s Revenge

"We go off-grid. Where?" "I need a hardware upgrade," I said, lightly touching the cracked iron collar at my neck. "The 12% output is enough to manipulate ambient magic, but I can't break the remaining eighty-eight runes without catastrophic self-decapitation. I need to find the source code of this iron. I need to find the Genesis Forge." Xander’s entire body tensed. The name clearly meant something terrible to him. "The Genesis Forge is a myth," he said, his voice dropping to a harsh whisper. "It’s an old wives' tale about a subterranean nexus where the first Lycan Sorcerers supposedly stole fire from the dragons."

Awakening Prime

Professor Faren sighed and glanced behind me, up towards the sky. "All dark elf descendants are born with a dark signature," he began to explain. I nodded, understanding that much from a few close calls when my mother and I were on the run. "Most descendants have unique birthmarks, others have a sublime control over dark magic since birth. A few such as yourself and your father, are born with a dark mind. Split in two by your parents' dominant genes," he explained. I scratched my head, feeling a little ache hitting my forehead. "Can you say all that you just said in a less sophisticated term," I said, rubbing my head.

If you found yourself drawn to the darkness—the kind of love that burns down worlds—the deeper lore, the dragons, the mystery beyond the ice walls, or characters like Lazarus and Sebastian, you can explore their origins in my other novel, The Last Dragon’s Enslaved Lycan Mate. And if you love powerful heroines who have to fight to earn their place in the world, and fate-bound romance, I think you’ll also enjoy, The First of Her Kind. If you want more—behind-the-scenes, future projects, Q&As, and a closer look into the chaos inside my head—you can find me on the gram @mfs_author Yes, I’m a bit of a controversial author with a knack for dark fantasy/romance. This novel is so good from the start (not completed yet, 212 as of 1 May 2026). The mystery, the reveal, the high stakes rescue the fights. Has it all. And it all connects in a satisfying way. Love the FL and ML, such great chemistry. I couldn't wait for the updates. Highly recommend this read.

This was a really good book from beginning to end. And while it was a serial, it did have an ending which I appreciate unlike some other books on this app. Would love to see a book 2, perhaps about the children as adults. Overall, very engaging and I couldn’t wait for new chapters to be released.

Frequently Asked Questions

When I trace the contours of dark fantasy that really lingers, my mind goes to writers who shape mood like weather. China Miéville's prose can be baroque and yet icy; in books like 'Perdido Street Station' he builds cities that feel like living nightmares and then refuses to explain everything, which leaves you strangely satisfied and unsettled. N.K. Jemisin, especially in 'The Fifth Season', combines emotional depth and inventive worldbuilding so that the darkness comes from systemic cruelty as much as from monsters, and that makes it hit differently.

I also find Mark Lawrence's 'Prince of Thorns' trilogy and Joe Abercrombie's 'First Law' books irresistible because they braid moral ambiguity with sharp, often sardonic voice. Glen Cook's 'The Black Company' remains a masterclass in telling grim stories from within the ranks — it feels intimate and bleak without melodrama. For something more dreamlike and uncanny, Jeff VanderMeer's 'Annihilation' and M. John Harrison's quieter, philosophical works are tiny knives that cut deep. Female authors like R.F. Kuang with 'The Poppy War' and Angela Carter’s fairy-tale revisitations offer dark fantasy that interrogates power and trauma in ways that stick with you long after the last page.

If you want the most beguiling dark fantasy, pick a book that unsettles both your expectations and your sympathies; I love it when a story stains my imagination and refuses to wash out, which is my high bar for the genre.
