Chapter – 0007 Damon POV The library was nearly deserted at 10:30 p.m. on a Thursday. Only the desperate and the sleepless remained. I’d come here to dig through old newspaper archives on Professor Lang’s “suicide,” but my mind kept drifting back to Lila. I was scanning microfiche when I heard footsteps. Soft and familiar. Then her scent. Lila appeared at the end of the row, wearing an oversized hoodie and tiny shorts that made her legs look endless.

He hated how aware he was of it. Tonight, like most nights while his parents were away, Elias sat at his desk in his bedroom, textbooks spread out, earbuds in, trying to focus on his freshman literature assignment. The house felt too big and empty. Until it wasn’t. The front door slammed downstairs with a heavy, commanding sound that made Elias’s heart jump. He pulled out one earbud, listening. Footsteps climbed the stairs. Elias’s stomach twisted with dread. His bedroom door pushed open without a knock. Damien Voss – his stepbrother– filled the doorway like he owned the entire world.

That was his first thought. All of his properties are heavily protected with CCTV cameras and there will be guards patrolling around all the time. But nothing gives protection like lights and so every nook and corner of his properties are well-lit. The low-life creatures only like the darkness and thrive in it. They cannot stand the light and light repels them. He heard some shouts from that direction and he ran towards the darkness. He saw a couple of the security guards confronting a couple of guys and his lips curved to a smirk noticing their tattoos. Seeing the lights smashed, his blue eyes filled with ruthlessness.

The mess of ink on the white paper reminds me of the monster that lurks in Nana and Papa’s basement, the one that tried to get Abby and Scott to go downstairs with it.

Natalia The Bloodmoon library had quickly turned into my favorite spot in the compound. It was quiet and cozy, the skylights carved into the rock high above casting little pools of golden sunlight onto the stone floors. Most of all, the smell of books and scrolls—both those who had been meticulously protected during the exodus over a hundred years ago by the highly-skilled librarians as well as newer ones—soothed me. Plus, it was quiet and peaceful here, and few people aside from the librarians in their heavy black robes came here.

Aiden’s voice interrupted my thoughts and I looked up to meet his amused eyes. "I didn't even realise you were here," I said with a smile, placing the book gently to the side. I wasn't surprised when Aiden had told me that the pack house had a library; I mean of course it would. What enormous mansion would be complete without one? However, I wasn't expecting such an incredible room. In fact the moment I walked into the library I felt weak in my knees. The library was brilliant with its rustic feel and spiralling staircases leading to hundreds of tall shelves with millions of carefully placed books. The Blackwood University library was cold, high, gothic and creepy as fuck at night. wolves avoided it because old werewolf spirits lingered in the shelves like forgotten grudges. Scarlet and Mira didn’t avoid anything. They entered. Scarlet walked directly to the forbidden knowledge section like she owned the place. Mira followed, holding three textbooks like shields. Scarlet dropped books on the table with a slam. “Okay.” Scarlet said, voice flat, serious like a murderer writing names. “I’ll take the fucking intelligence questions.”

With its winding hallways and tall, secret-filled walls, the Silver Moon packhouse had always seemed like a maze to Iris. There was a feeling of dread in the air tonight. After her escape the previous evening, the brightness of her mark had faded, but the uneasiness that still pervaded her chest had not. She's only a diversion, Damon's words still ringing in her head. Iris found herself prowling the hallways once again, determined to uncover anything to foil Damon's plans. With its dusty volumes of lost history and its secret nooks, the library seemed the most sensible place to look. The door creaked slightly behind her as she stepped inside.

The hairs on the back of my neck stand on end as I reach the heavy oak library doors and push them open with trembling hands. The room beyond is locked in the same silent horror, a tableau of academic life interrupted mid-breath. Leather-bound books are scattered across a polished wooden table, caught mid-slide as if someone had just bumped the edge. One boy with tousled brown hair has his pencil hovering just a millimeter above his notebook, poised to write words that will never materialize. Another girl, her caramel skin glowing in the afternoon light, has her head tilted back in laughter that will never reach the surface, joy eternally captured but never expressed. And Damon—Damon is here

Mira’s POV, The library was in the same condition as the last time I had come here with Kyden. Since returning to the Shadowmoon, I started almost every morning here, wandering through the rows of shelves filled with ancient manuscripts. Most of them were covered with tons of dirt, away from human touch for ages. The scent of aged parchment and dried ink filled my lungs as I stepped inside, dust motes swirling lazily in the shafts of sunlight streaming through the tall windows. It was, as usual, quiet and empty, in perfect condition where I could lose myself in searching for my answers.
