Malrik’s POV The torches flickered against the cavern walls, casting long, angry shadows that twisted like serpents. The deeper I walked, the heavier the air became—drenched with ancient magic, blood oaths, and the scent of sulfur. At the center of the circular chamber stood Kaelron, the dark sorcerer—cloaked in crimson and black, his face half-hidden beneath a hood. His skeletal fingers moved rhythmically above the obsidian altar, muttering incantations in a forgotten tongue. The dark pool in the stone basin before him shimmered with blood and stardust.

“Dark magic? Are you sure?” Hazel nodded, her eyes still unfocused. "It was a vision. Maxine was standing before an altar, a figure cloaked in shadows beside her. I couldn’t see their face, but I could feel the power. It’s... it’s not just Maxine’s will at work. She’s making a deal—something far darker than what we’ve faced before." Oswald exchanged a look with Darius. Dark magic, a force so ancient and dangerous, was not something they could take lightly. They had fought enough battles to know that when such power was involved, the cost was always high.

We will traverse your world again, and shroud it in darkness." A wave of the dark energy burst outwards and slammed into the healing wizards; sending them all crashing back against opposite walls. They shouted as they fell, but they were shocked and alive. I felt that surge, too, but at least I was prepared this time.
