She began creating a big blast of darkness, directing it towards my pack. The slide locked back empty. He dropped the pistol, yanked the backup blade from his boot, and met the fourth man in the dark with pure close-quarters violence. I heard the wet sound of the knife finding flesh. A heavy body hit the floorboards. Kazimir’s weight shifted hard against me as he took another glancing cut across the shoulder and kept moving.

Linus answered. “If you say so.” Damien answered, his tone is obviously teasing. It was the first time that Linus actually cared about his host; surely Joaqin is special human for Linus. Damien suddenly wondered if creatures like him are still capable of love. He shook his head, desire might be possible but not love. They are already succumbed deeply and they could never arise from darkness anymore. “Huh? That kid with your human… he’s odd.” Linus said as he saw Chris and Kurt walking together from a distance.
