Be Careful With My Heart
I can practically feel the waves of anger rolling off Massimo, but David seems either oblivious or unbothered by the obvious tension.
"That's very flattering, but. . ."
"Here's my card," David says, producing an elegant business card from his pocket. "Think about it. I'll be in New York for a few months working on a documentary."
I take the card, hyper aware of Massimo's dark stare. David's fingers brush mine briefly as he hands it over, and the touch is warm and friendly, nothing like the electric jolts I get from Massimo, but pleasant nonetheless.
"Well, I should let you get back to your evening," David says with another of those easy smiles. "Enjoy the rest of the show."
