Dawn's POV I woke up with the feeling of someone's hands against my scalp. It was so soothing that I snuggled deeper into the warmth that encompassed me. I opened my eyes and the vision of Asher's strong abs came to view. I smiled remembering what hours ago had been like. He reached for me one more time before we finally fell asleep. 'Tell me you didn't drop that towel on purpose Dawn?' Asher said and I bit down on my lips pretending I was still sleeping.

But his hand fell, limp and lifeless, against the freezing floor. And in that instant, as his eyes closed for good, my spirit dissolved—scattering like starlight into the endless snow. Alex, for the first time, looked truly afraid. Dawn turned away from him and walked back toward me. Pride filled my chest as I watched her. "You heard her," I growled.
