Chapter 1 DAWN “Murderer!” “You killed her! If not because of DaeDae in his arms, he would've rushed towards Twilight to pull her collar in rage. As if a hole was dug on his chest, he felt hallow. There's pain in his chest, and he couldn't breath. DaeDae seems to feel it too as he started flailing around and wail.

Dawn's POV I continued walking through the woods. From a distance, I could hear some howls but for some weird reasons, I wasn't scared. Infact, I hoped one of the creatures out there would come out of nowhere and kill me. Maybe when that happened, Xavier would finally let me go. As I walked, the wind became cooler and brushed against my skin. "Ouch," I flinched as one of the thorns that was in the plants pierced my skin. It started bleeding a bit, but I quickly cleaned it off and continued walking.

The door squeaked open and she was met with a tray of hot steaming food and the smell of coffee. “So, tell me where is your precious mate?” Eric snarled causing Dawn to look down at the ground. Her eyes looked sad and she had deep frown lines in her forehead. “He’s dead.” Dawn said quietly. She wished that he was here to save her and kick this stupid cretins ass.

“What was that?” Dawn asked in a whimper as she tries to control her crying. “Which part?” I ask. “Walker.” Is all she says. “We think he is a prophet of some kind.” I tell her brushing my hand through her hair as she is still leaning against me. “That would be another part of why we came for a visit.” She sits up and looks at me questioningly. “What do you mean?” I explain to her about the words Walker said when I was dreaming and how we have two weeks after the next full moon before a war starts.

My breathing was shallow, and it was like I would collapse anytime now. “Dubheasa didn’t tell me you were this beautiful,” he whispered as his hands traveled down to my lips. I tilted my head to the side to get rid of his hands. I saw the sunlight on the ladder coming from the open pit above. It made me remember that vampires are scared of sunlight. I do hope it really is. I took a deep breath to get ready. My feet were still trembling, but I tried to sprint directly to where the shafts of light were beaming. As soon as my foot stepped into it, the vicious vampire was able to grab my hand and pull me back to the darkness.
