Zander agreed, pulling a silver dagger from his belt and an empty vial from his pocket and looking at her expectantly. Shedding her leather jacket and rolling up the sleeve of her white top, she reluctantly held her wrist out in between them. Zander smiled, and dragged the dagger across her wrist. She winced, gritting her teeth as blood trickled down both sides of her wrist, allowing Zander to catch them in the vial. He wiped the dagger clean on the sleeve of his own shirt and placed it back in his belt, putting a lid back on the vial and holding it up proudly as though it were a trophy.

As he passed Adalwen, he bowed slightly to Chris according to the rules, still holding Brawen tightly as if he wanted to provoke. Chris didn't even look at him, his eyes fixed on the horizon.
