Dead Ends

Dead Ends

Those days felt like paradise on earth, if felt like we had the world in our palm, it felt perfect. Then, it felt like if we didn't have mamá and papá uncle Fidel and aunt Samantha would be there to fill the void of their absence but no we lost both parents cause after mamá and papà's death we didn't hear from them anymore, it felt like they disappeared from the surface of the earth and all of a sudden they appear and want to bring back the horrible past we have done our best to bury for years now. They weren't here when we needed them the most so i don't see the use of their presence anymore. ~~~~~~

Pregnant by My Dead Husband's Best Friend

Pregnant by My Dead Husband's Best Friend

My boots crunch softly. I stop at a plot near the back wall. The headstone is grey granite. Simple. NIKOS MIKOS 1995 - 2024 Rest in Peace There is no body in the ground. We burned him in the warehouse. We scattered his ashes in a landfill. This stone is just a marker for a lie. A placeholder for a man who never really existed. I stand there. I wait for the anger. I wait for the grief. I wait for the fear that used to wake me up screaming in the middle of the night.

Death and the Madness That Follows

Death and the Madness That Follows

“But this James Cotton—he’s a good man. Young but mature enough. I might give it a try!” I was slightly taken aback. It seemed that men and women were not very different after all—no matter how old they got, they both liked younger company. This could work! I snapped my fingers. “I heard the bar at the end of the street has plenty of handsome young men! They even dress up in costumes sometimes. Let’s go check it out tonight, Mom!” Betsy did not even hesitate and we decided to head out that very evening. After getting our photos taken, the makeup artist came up to me with my photos.

A Death and A Wedding

A Death and A Wedding

… One day, I suddenly saw the news on the television. "The Jones family was murdered. None of the family members lived." My heart skipped a beat. I then saw a photo of my family on the screen. "It is reported that the murder was committed by Susan Jones, the wife of the old director of Jones Group..." None of them survived. Charles, Derek, Samantha, Jenson, and Susan—all of them died. "Mrs. Jones left a suicide note, claiming that this was done for her daughter Celine..." I could no longer process the words I heard after that.

The Perfect Death

The Perfect Death

After catching my supposedly frigid wife, Emmy Winslow, aroused by our household robot butler, I swallowed my disgust and sent the machine to a destruction facility. I never expected that decision to cost her life. On the way to chase after the robot, Emmy was involved in a horrific car accident and died at the scene. From that day on, I became notorious in our social circle as the jealous husband who drove his wife to her death. Five years passed. Night after night, I tortured myself by wondering if she would still be alive had I not been so petty over a machine. Until today, while discussing business at a private club, I passed a half-open VIP suite and heard one of Emmy's closest frie

Declared Dead, Replaced by a Fraud

Declared Dead, Replaced by a Fraud

"J-John, why are you back so suddenly? Didn't you say that you'd be back in a few years?" I narrowed my eyes, slowly taking in the love-making marks scattered all over her body. I pulled out the court notice declaring my death and slapped it on her wedding gown. "If I didn't come back now, you would have just gone on with the wedding and hold a funeral for me, right?" Nora's face paled. She shiftily kept the court order and explained timidly, "We're just having a fake wedding. You know that Henry became mentally impaired trying to save me. He's just like a five-year-old now."

Dead because of you

Dead because of you

I stood there for hours, praying to die. Until my neighbor, Mr. Collins, came in the morning to look for Jack. I don't remember exactly what happened. I remember waking up the next day in the hospital. I hated the fact that I was still alive and Jack didn't. I wanted to die more than anything. They had killed my whole life. One shot changed everything. One night changed my life completely. It took more than 6 months before I was able to shake off the incident. I had nightmares every night.

Dead and Gone: No, Not Really

Dead and Gone: No, Not Really

I heard the clicking of camera shutters, but no one called the ambulance. My blood drained dry. My body became cold. Finally, Yvette Skye was no more. I died all alone at the corner of the street. No one cared. My corpse was not a pretty sight. My eyes were wide, unseeing, and there was a large hole in my stomach. My legs were twisted together. One of my arms was flung by the side of the road. My legs were useless now. I was ugly. No wonder the little girl cried. Floating in the air, I stared at my mutilated corpse.

Dead Weight

Priya whispers. “Before the fall, society measured stability in throw pillows.” Eli lifts one. It says LIVE LAUGH LOVE. Without a word, he places it face down. Maya looks at him. He shrugs. “Some threats should stay buried.” That is the problem with Eli. He does not try to be funny. He just arrives there honestly. They split at the warehouse entrance because the loading bay door is jammed. Miles’ group go for mattresses. Maya and Eli take flat-pack frames, Pete and Priya are on shelves and anything soft enough to spell comfort.
