They were dressed in sharp, dark suits, their faces as expressionless as the stone insignia above us.
One of them gestured to a black sedan idling silently just inside the gate without uttering a word.
"They’ll drive us the rest of the way," Miguel whispered.
As the car silently rolled forward, the house grew larger. It was a massive, three-story manor built of pale stone, surrounded by perfectly trimmed hedges and white statues that looked like they were watching us pass.
There were no lights on the lawn, only the glow from the high, arched windows of the second floor.
