Dear Evan Hansen Novels & Stories

"Are you deaf?" This time, Evan roared. "I said, why should I kneel before you? Do you even deserve it? Oh, right. From now on, I'm no longer Evan Solberg. My name is Evan Norwood!" His roar sounded like a lightning strike, causing Hazel, Roxanne, and Anya's ears to ring in agony. Hazel froze. Roxanne and Anya felt like they were looking at a stranger. Was this still the same man they knew?

That was what led to everything that was happening. Evan swept a glance at everyone, and his gaze eventually fell onto Chase. “Can you please release him?” “No!” Chase replied coldly. Hanks immediately explained what happened. Evan frowned when he found out Evan was being humiliated because of him. He looked at Chase and said, “My name is Evan Waterson of the Watersons. I’d like to ask that you let Wendell go on account of my family…” Chase shook his head and said, “Who do the Watersons think they are? Do you want to end up like him? If not, get out!”

Evan walked around his desk and stopped in front of her, his intimidating straight posture didn't fail to affect Helena as she cowered back though she was fumed at his question. Evan invaded her personal space, getting on her face, “Helena!” His voice held authority but Helena pressed her hands to his chest and shoved him back though He didn't budge. “You tell me what that was, Evan Conan Hemsworth!” Helena asked sharply.

Rachel’s mom asked through the screen door. “Hi Mrs. Hansen,” I started, trying to focus on the human woman in front of me and not the arguing I heard far off. “Oh Ms. Blancos, if you don’t mind. I changed my name after the divorce. You’re… Eric, right? You went to school with Rachel?” She looked like an older, tanner version of Rachel. A little shorter too. “Oh, yes, apologies ma’am. Yes I’m Evan. I was just wondering if Rachel was around? We spoke yesterday about meeting up with a group of friends today and we just haven’t heard from her…” I explained.

he asks. “Oh, I’m sorry. I'm just passing through. I'm a photographer, and I saw this old barn and decided to stop and snap a few pictures.” I explain. “Well, ain’t that something. Jeff, she is a photographer, she just saw this old barn and decided to stop and snap some pictures.” He says licking his chops at me like I am a t-bone steak. “Ugh, gross. Hannah, that guy is creepy.” I hear Lily chime in. “Yep” I respond as I continue to snap pictures. Jeff comes through the door and it's his turn to devour me with his creepy eyes.

Dean nodded politely before turning to leave. Eve again closed the room door slowly so as not to make a sound, then went downstairs to get her lunch that she hadn't eaten yet. ***

I, Hannah Shaw, had come back to life. "Hannie, are you still there?" Trevor asked, raising his voice when I didn't answer. "I'm not feeling well today. I can't make it. Tell her to find someone else," I said flatly. Trevor sounded annoyed. "No way! Evie went to Hanoe Island for the holidays. If you don't go, Mojo will starve. You always feed stray cats. What's the big deal about a dog?" I let out a cold laugh. "A dog bit me when I was a kid. I'm afraid of dogs, so I'm not going. Tell her to find someone online."

He just held me tighter, like letting go would make everything fall apart. On the third morning Dr. Harper called us back in. Evan sat between us on the exam table, swinging his legs like it was any ordinary day. The doctor looked at her tablet, then at us. “The new test is back,” she said. “Evan is negative. He does not have Huntington's gene.” Relief crashed over me so hard my knees almost gave out. I pulled Evan into my arms and hugged him tight, breathing in his familiar smell. Caleb let out a long, shaky breath, his shoulders finally dropping.

I didn't recognize them though. "That's my parents' best friends, Halley and Martin. They have a son together but he's spending the summer with his grandmother," Evan said in a whisper to my ears. "Okay," I answered back softly, watching as they take a seat opposite from us. The doors opened again. "Hello everybody," Mr. Hollen greeted. He was dressed casually like his sons and following right behind him was a very beautiful black woman. That explains it. My nerves calmed instantly this time. Evan got up and I followed suit.

Osborn says in an aggravated tone, “It appears that way.” The tall man moves around Claudia and holds his hand out to me. His hand is massive, and I feel like a child as I shake his hand and he tells me, “My name is Evan, I’m Peelle and Osborn’s father. It is an honor to have you here, Eda. We have waited for you for a very long time.” I let out a nervous smile as I don’t know how to respond to his kind words. When Evan comes back by Claudia and puts his arm around her, she says to him quietly, “Doesn’t she look familiar?”
