He shoves it into my arms.
The impact nearly knocks the air out of me. I stagger half a step, clutching the ridiculous thing against my chest. “Oh,” I say, again. Brilliant. Real articulate, Eris. “Wow.”
He doesn’t respond. Already walking away.
I scramble after him, the teddy bear’s head flopping against my chin.
“You could’ve toned that down,” I mutter once I catch up. “You kind of . . . broke it.”
