His Biggest Regret Was Me

His Biggest Regret Was Me

"They contacted the emergency number our investigation team had recorded before we withdrew surveillance. That man... Charlie Vane... suffered complete organ failure caused by severe hypothermia. He was officially pronounced dead at exactly one o'clock this morning." Elena's fingers, resting lightly on the tablet screen, froze instantly. Her heartbeat seemed to skip a beat, leaving behind an emptiness that spread through her chest without warning. The man was truly gone. The ruthless ruler of Capital, the husband who had ignored her tears, and the worn-out man who had knelt beneath the rain at the docks of City-B had now become nothing more than a single name on an unidentified immigrant's d

she whispers. “Why not?” Vitali asks in confusion. “Because Nuray died a week ago,” she chokes out while turning to face him. Amelia lets out a gasp and so does Jennifer, clutching her hand to her mouth, and just like everyone else, I’m staring up at this woman in utter shock. Did she just say a member of the Delegation died? I didn’t even know they could die, I thought they were immortal. “She was killed. I’m sorry to be the one… to tell you. I know you two were close,” she finishes with a shaky breath.

The Death Notice Arrived Before 7:55

The Death Notice Arrived Before 7:55

The night before our SAT, I tossed and turned, unable to sleep. Suddenly, my phone screen lit up. I received a text from an unknown number. [Tomorrow at 6:30 a.m.. Leaving for the testing center. Your sister disappears.] I stared at the screen, my heart jolting. I did have a twin sister, Molly Young, and we were both scheduled to take the test the next day. But what a pathetic prank. I tossed my phone aside, turned over, and went back to sleep. The next morning, we had barely left the driveway when Molly suddenly cried out beside me. “Oh no, I forgot my admission ticket.” “Dad, pull over! I need to go back and get it.”

"Directive 9.2. Every flag since 1998. Two hundred and eleven names. One hundred and ninety-seven dead. Fourteen active. Including you two." He looked at me. Then Rosie. "And your mom." "Mom's in there," Rosie said. "Yes," Justin said. "Entry 143. Termination date: April 15, 2024. Cause: vehicular. Status: closed." I watched Rosie. She didn't cry. She just nodded. Once. Like she'd been waiting to hear it said out loud. "How do we kill it?" I asked. "Magnet," Antonio said. "Strong one. Or fire. Or—"

Death Contract

Based on the colour of the envelope I knew the mission was about capturing lost souls. "It says there, the name of who you need to reap as soon as possible. It's a special soul so I gave it to you." I just nodded before sitting on the sofa not far away. From there, I read the contents of the brown envelope. Name: Mary Sean Ivanovich Cause of Death: Suicide Punishment: REAP

He had given me a second chance and I knew I had to say something to him about that. “Thank you.” Death nodded his head. He knew exactly what I was referring to. “You’re most welcome, Kiran.” He smiled stiffly. “What do you want?” “To warn you.” I wondered what game he was playing now. “About what and why?” I frowned as Death smiled sadly. “His time is up.” I felt like I couldn’t breathe as Death stood next to me and touched my soul. “Kai…” I managed to whisper through the pain and fear. **Kiran's story continues in The Lupian Chronicles: Fire (Book 3)

Even After Death

Even After Death

If her mother doesn't come back, we can only …" Kelvin's voice sounded a little bitter. He refused to say that word. But Ethan was calm. "People have to die eventually." "But you're Ethan Miller!" "It doesn't change anything." Ethan coughed lightly. If this truly was the end, he only had one regret. He couldn't see Olivia and the children one last time before he died. He slowly got up, his footsteps unsteady as he headed outside. Krystal, who had just washed up, hastily went up to him to support him. "Careful, Sova."

Congratulations author! Such a nice plot of a novel about a woman’s saga on the romantic- love-hate realm. I cried a bucket for Olivia at the beginning of the story, but I admire the true love of Ethan for her at the later part. In this time and age, would there be such kind of love?

Death or Marriage!

Death or Marriage!

He was one of my closest buddies. But that’s not the problem here. I freeze as a scary realization hits me. Today is the 27th of December. Ten years ago at exactly 11:00 am New York time, my father was found dead in his office by his secretary. Bella and I never got the full story since we were too young, but the cause of his death remains a mystery to us. And now the time is 11:03 am. Three minutes ago I received that call from Greece.

Caring For The Mafia Son

Caring For The Mafia Son

I had my own things to worry about anyway. Damien POV The door opened again almost immediately after Rachel left. Vance stepped inside, and I noticed the file in his hand before he'd even closed the door. "That was quick," I said, leaning back in my chair. "Public records," Vance replied, moving toward my desk. "Death certificates are easy enough to access." He set the file down in front of me, his expression carefully neutral. I opened it, scanning the first page. Sarah Owens. Cause of Death: Acute Asthma Attack.
