A love forged in deception.

A love forged in deception.

I had to let on nothing about the robbery, the new car, or the cheating. "Yes. My friends," I said, offering a tight, weak smile that felt like a lie. He returned the gaze, his expression unchanging, then finally took his hand away from my elbow. "And how are they?." He asked, burying his hands on his pocket. “They're okay, thanks”. I smiled. Out of nervousness and exhaustion, I turned to walk away with an apologetic look. “Wait, Kylie! Your keys!”. He yelled.

THE BIKER'S NEW FOUND MATE

THE BIKER'S NEW FOUND MATE

"If I do this, if I fake my death—I cannot contact anyone. Albert. Antonio. Grace. They will think I am really gone." "They will grieve. That grief will be authentic. X-One and X-Two will detect authentic grief and accept your death as real. Fake grief gets noticed. Real grief sells the deception." X-Three grabbed my flickering hand. "You want to protect them? Make them believe you are dead. It is the only way." "How do I know you are not just X-One wearing a conscience as camouflage? How do I know this is not another layer of manipulation?"

A Night In Daddy's Bed

A Night In Daddy's Bed

It tasted of absolutely nothing except mayonnaise. I sat staring out at the darkness rushing past the window while random thoughts kept nudging at the edges of my exhaustion. Missing pieces. New pieces. No pieces at all. There were lies so small they hardly mattered, the sort you could choose to believe or ignore without consequence. Then there were lies that looked harmless on the surface but carried enormous ramifications underneath. And sometimes deception wasn’t about what somebody said—it was about what they deliberately left unsaid. Jock’s lies always hovered dangerously close to the truth.

The Amnesia Deceit

The Amnesia Deceit

Nancy was about to push the door open when she heard Evan's gloating voice. "Nancy's just too stupid. Can you believe that she actually thinks this amnesia thing I have is real? No one forgets one specific person when they suffer from amnesia. What's more, I have it once every three years. That was just a lie I made up because I wanted to have fun with other women!" Nancy's hand stopped in midair. It was just a lie? She could hardly believe her ears, but the voices inside the private room continued. "But I thought you liked Ms. Sartori a lot. Why are you hurting her with this lie?"

Love Deception

Love Deception

He remembered my passion for medicine and how I willingly put that aside to become the woman who helped him to succeed while giving up on my own dreams. "Nina…" he muttered in great regret. "I made a mistake. I was wrong…" However, only the empty room and the sound of the whistling wind outside the window answered him. News about Yvonne stealing the research papers of the hemostatic agent and my 'death' broke out on the internet. Her reputation as the Perettis' Donna was ruined as her actions spread across the internet. Netizens started accusing her of wrongdoing, and her name became tarnished from it.

SLEEPING NEXT TO A STRANGER

SLEEPING NEXT TO A STRANGER

“You came here to deceive us, Nina. You pretended to be my daughter in law to deceive everyone. You’re trying to convince everyone you fit into this place? She visibly reacted to my words yet her eyes showed no anger but only regret. My intentions never included escalating this situation this far. I believed I could deceive everyone around me even to the point of fooling myself. My extended presence here revealed my inability to deceive anyone despite my attempts. Not even you.”

The billionaire virgin wife

The billionaire virgin wife

This was personal, targeting what he held dearest, and the feeling was unfamiliar, corrosive. His instincts screamed that it was all false, that every word, every image had been fabricated. He knew deception. He had built empires on reading people, spotting cracks where others saw none. And yet, for the first time in his life, he felt that he might have been outmaneuvered. Even steel bends under pressure, and Damian felt the first tremors of doubt ripple through him.

The Golden Dragon's Princess

The Golden Dragon's Princess

“Is it?” “Yes, there are words within Fae that when combined with a certain inflexion can imply deceit,” he had set the book to the side and leaned forward on his chair, his golden hair sweeping forward over his shoulder. “For example…” he spoke a phrase and then repeated it with a very subtle difference in the pronunciation. “The first is straight Fae, but the second implies there is a hidden deceit.” “Why would they have a language that is designed to tell you that they’re being deceitful?” I wondered.

Leave it to Everleigh to make a person long for their own broody, sexy dragon. Seriously though, I couldn't put this book down. The world this author has created is so vibrant and fun it makes you want to dive in to the pages.
Sarah.
I really loved the book, I wish there were more like it on this app. The characters are charming and the story is beautifully written, the premise makes me want to continue reading the other books. I hope there will be lots more like this one and maybe even longer

Eidolon Ave: The Second Feast

Eidolon Ave: The Second Feast

“And who am I but God’s servant on earth, is he was killed, not once but twice, for being someone other than who he truly was. For lying.” “For being dishonest,” she said. Her tongue felt thick, her lips now without a doubt numb. She wondered if he heard her drunkenness in her words. In the slurring of her sentences or the way her lips refused to respond. And if he would tell on her. If she would be punished. Expelled. Destroyed. She wondered if she should take another drink. “Being dishonest has consequences.” He was watching her. “Deception travels, like a blackening swarm of ravenous flies, landing on the innocent, infecting them, changing them. Deceiving

Deceiving

I ask with a growl, Jordan was right, I should see the other guy now, and Jordan is right he's in a much worse shape. "I see, you've sold me for this new guy," Joshua says sounding hurt, but it's fake hurt, he's lying, he's a good liar, always been one. "We were never a thing Joshua," I say annoyed with him, looking down at Jordan, he's still asleep, I don't want him to hear this. "But it didn't feel that way holding you," he says making me growl, he's making things up now. "Stop making things up!" I say, he's trying to gaslight me.
