Sweet Damnation

Sweet Damnation

If I could, I would kill this Matias guy in seconds. But no, because of my stupid plan I have to act out my own version of the Cinderella story. “I can walk. Thank you very much.” I snapped, trying to yank my wrist out from his grasp. His grip tighten a little bit more, crushing my wrist as he dragged me, almost throwing me down the remaining flight of stairs.

Rising From the Ashes

Rising From the Ashes

I would roll my eyes at him whenever he would try to show off by doing one armed pull ups. Back then I was so much stronger than I am now. I've long spent any energy I had. I was surviving based on the adrenaline shots Xavier had given me. I could feel my system grow weaker. But I couldn't afford to give in. Or rather give up. So even though holding onto the ledge seemed impossible right now, I couldn't let go. I managed to pull myself up, lifting the window up, and jumping down into the room. I collapsed to my knees immediately after I made it inside.

The Cliff Jump That Changed Everything

The Cliff Jump That Changed Everything

I never imagined her idea of forever would be so short. No one came to help, so I dragged myself up the cliffside again and again in desperation. It got darker. The wound from the boulder earlier seemed infected now. The pain blurred my vision. I broke down and called Vanessa over and over, begging her to save me. No one answered. Just when I thought all hope was lost, the call finally connected. "Vanessa, please, I'm begging you to help me..." What came through the line was the sound of heavy breathing.

Reborn to Defy Fate

Reborn to Defy Fate

Some of the wards faltered, rippling unevenly, but I adjusted, strengthened, redoubled. Hours passed, or maybe minutes, I could no longer tell. The moon had shifted overhead, dipping lower into the horizon. My hair was damp with sweat, my skin tingling with energy, but I pressed on. I tried forming the first shape of the domain. Small, a simple dome, a bubble of protection. But the first attempt collapsed before it fully materialized. I cursed softly, feeling frustration coil in my chest. I had never been one to fail easily, and I wasn’t about to start now.

The Luna’s last breath

The Luna’s last breath

Its first step shattered the ground. Not metaphorically. Literally. The moment the colossal being—the First Tyrant—placed its foot upon the valley, the ground did not just crack. It gave way. Entire acres of earth crushed inward like paper being crumbled by an invisible hand. High mountains in the distance warped, their peaks bending sideways as gravity itself lost direction around them. Dax instinctively grabbed Aria just a second before the ground beneath them tilted violently. “Move, Aria!”

BLAIR

BLAIR

Matthew skillfully dodged most of them and blocked or deflected some of them. The attacker suddenly ran up to Matthew while he was busy dodging, jumped over his back and touched it. All of the sudden, Matthew felt a heavy force pushing him down closer to the earth. However, his strength did not fail him. He stood there as if not even affected by the force. “Gravity magic? Damn, when did you learn that?” Matthew asked. The attacker pointed her index finger downward, then upward. Along with her finger, Matthew suddenly felt the force pressing down was momentarily gone and instead it went upward. Matthew was thrown high into the air.

Alpha Ethan

Alpha Ethan

Gravehowl emerges from the smoke behind us, colossal form coalescing fully now—fur bristling, eyes burning with savage delight. Good, he rumbles. It brought friends. The Architect lifts its hands. Reality folds. Gravity reverses for half a second, hurling wolves into the air before slamming them back down. Pain screams through my body as the faultline spikes, power surging chaotically. “No!” I snarl, dropping to one knee and forcing myself to focus. “Not like that.” The Reverent tightens its presence around the pillars, analyzing, adapting. Containment lattice detected. Architect-grade.

Blood on the Asphalt biker

Blood on the Asphalt biker

"Neo-Tokyo has aerial supremacy. They have Mach 5 interceptors, and we have a flying brick. We cannot outmaneuver them." "So how do we fight jets on motorcycles?" Jax asked, chewing on an unlit cigar. "Last time I checked, my chopper doesn't have wings." "You don't need wings. You need gravity," Dax said. He kicked the durasteel casing of the massive thruster beneath his boots. "When Mia fires this grid, the localized anti-gravity field won't just push the city up. It's going to create a gravitational slipstream right along the outer hull."

Enjoying the book tremendously, the characters names and even the tone of the author changed in the last 1/3 of the book was a bit confusing but was able to adjust to the changes the plot is definitely engaging and keeps you pushing to see how it all plays out for Zepher but it seem to abruptly?
