The armored vehicle was drowned out by tens of thousands of zombies. The monsters were squeezing and crashing against the defensive layers. The concussion grenade incessantly let off maddening noises, causing the zombies to be in a constant state of frenzy. The safe and wide space in the vehicle was now hell on earth. Jasmine covered her ears. She shouted hysterically, her body tumbling alongside the violently shaking vehicle, "Jason, you absolute b*stard! Turn this bloody thing off!" Her exquisite makeup was ruined and twisted by sweat and fear.

Rage flows through me as he keeps sniffing my hair at the back. "Let me go!" I yelled. "Come on~ I know you're liking it." I can't smack his face at this position. I don't have any more strength to fight back but I'm doing my best to do so. Remember Serena, you need to protect yourself. I closed my eyes as those monsters tried to invade my mind again. With all force, I stomp his feet causing him to groan in pain while smiling. Is he on drugs? "Bastard."

Chapter One The phone buzzes against my ear, and I already know what's coming. Sally's voice cuts through the morning air like a knife through butter. "Dabe, are you sure you packed everything?" Her tone is sharp, worried. "Your passport? Ticket? Phone charger? You can be very forgetful sometimes. Check everything before you leave the house." I roll my suitcase across the hardwood floor, the wheels making that familiar grinding sound. "I have everything, Mom," I say, letting the sarcasm drip from my words like honey.

MONICA. “Mate?” I stammer, unable to contain my anxiety and fear anymore. I start to squirm again, harder and with more force this time. So much so that the rope around my wrists are starting to burn my skin. “If you touch me, I swear I’ll kill you like I killed Riva–” “Oh, no.” To my utter surprise, Deimos laughs. The sound is oddly pleasant and actually good-natured, contrasting greatly with the simple intimidation of his appearance. His laugh sounds like the warm laughter of a friend after cracking a joke, but everything about his looks shout crazed murderer. It’s strange and chilling to hear.

Tears rolled down my cheeks as I listened to them speak, eventually freezing into ice. Silence grew once more in the room. However, the temperature was still dropping. My mind grew even hazier. 'Mom, I'm coming to you. I'm sorry. I can't live on. I'm sorry...' I was dead. I died. I died in that icy basement they locked me in. As the last shreds of warmth fled my body, I thought to myself, 'If there is a next life, I don't want to see them again.' However, I never realized my mind would stay past my death.

He is so happy because he will finally be able to escape this chaotic world and they will be able to fulfill the simple dream of Akira and his as a normal couple. When he arrived at the condo, he immediately took a shower first to be able to clean and to make sure if he hadn't been scratched before. Azrael’s body is full of scars from his wounds from his previous missions and on his back is a large tattoo— “Deus Mortis” which in Latin means “God of death” is what the organization called him because of the number of impossible missions he has accomplished.

"Seth I swear on my mother's spine this would be your last night with our team!" ************ She opened her eyes and tried to adjust her vision of the brightness of the room before trying to sit on her butt. If this was a health facility, then it was the worst she has ever seen. Rusted floors, leaking ceilings, spider webs around…. at this point she was just convinced that the monster civilization had a thing for dirt. She gave a cringed look at her surrounding before closing her eyes. That was when she remembered, she had an episode of a panic attack.

It's like I've been erased, left stranded on the outside of the only life that ever meant anything. So, I drink myself into oblivion every night just to quiet the noise in my head, the constant replay of what I lost, what I destroyed. The mirror shows me what I've become. Long hair brushing against my jawline, paired with a beard that borders on feral. I've got that wild-eyed psychotic, disheveled look. The kind of face that makes people avert their eyes.

“Fucking let go of me. You're a fucking sadist; you get joy upon seeing people in pain, you sick fuck.” “If I'm a sadist then you're a masochist to my sadism.” He said in a husky voice. Before I could utter another word, he smashed his lips on mine. I blinked a few times trying to register what just happened. I wanted to push him off so badly but I couldn't. I just melted into the kiss. The kiss was rough and dizzying. It lit thousands of fireworks within me. He grabbed the back of my head to deepen the kiss while I ruffled my hands in his silky black hair.

We don't retreat. We sharpen. And somewhere underneath all the sarcasm and fake escape plans, something inside me shifts anyway. The moon hangs pale outside my bedroom window. Tomorrow it'll be full. Tomorrow somebody will probably get bonded whether they like it or not. Tomorrow half the wolves in the territory will lose their minds. I close my eyes slowly. "Let the moon do its worst," I whisper. Because if there's going to be madness tomorrow— it won't just belong to the moon.
