' Already for most humans, the only respite they find from their own minds is to occasionally revert to a level of consciousness below thought. Everyone does that every night during sleep. But this also happens to some extent through sex, alcohol, and other drugs that suppress excessive mind activity. If it weren't for alcohol, tranquilizers, antidepressants, as well as the illegal drugs, which are all consumed in vast quantities, the insanity of the human mind would become even more glaringly obvious than it is already.

Madness was a license to freedom. A license to do and say anything she wanted-with no repercussions. No Eberhard, no guns, no bad memories. Maybe this place wasn't so bad after all.

The girl from the mirror laughed and shook her head at Cara. "No. You aren't crazy, Cara. And no, you aren't delirious with fever either. You just fainted. This is a dream. You did hit your head, but you will be fine. You will wake up shortly. Your subconscious just decided that you needed a pep talk to help you come to terms with things. That is all."

Blue immediately nods his head. “Okay so here is the plan. I am sending ten monsters to attack the Ma Vista’s tomorrow and I need you too...” The next morning is Mayhem all the monsters gather in the backyard as they prepare to hear all the monsters that will be going to the Ma Vista’s today. There is an excited buzz that floats around the yard as they all stand there waiting for me to finally address them. Finally I stand, all the monsters stop whispering to one another and the backyard falls silent.

Barked Jared. With that Jared stomped out of the house and peeled out of the street in search of Sage once more. The astral plains danced, and an evil laugh could be heard. Thomas and Megan had made it a night and tried to curl up in bed and ended in some black and white dream. Standing before them was David. “Look fucker this is enough of that.” Megan waved her hand and sent David across the well-manicured lawn in the black and white world they were stuck in.

"What are you talking about?" Juniper asked, confused. She was initially startled, then gently looped an arm around Lucas'. "Come on, Lucas. You're not seeing this right. How could I have misled you guys? I know I was wrong earlier, but there must be a misunderstanding—" Lucas shook her off without hesitation, glaring at her as she fell to the ground. "You think we're all idiots? Do you get a kick out of playing everyone like fools? Huh?"

Charlie’s face shifted from pale to flushed, his hands waving frantically as he shouted, yet every pore radiated panic. Clearly, he thought Conrad had lost his mind—that every word was a lie. Apparently, he was the only one in the household completely unaware of the family’s dark secrets. In his eyes, he was the sole heir of a happy family. Then Charlie lunged toward me, shaking my shoulders violently. “You see, Kendall? I warned you! He’s insane! He’s ranting with lies again! “And you married him? Ha! Are you stupid? You must regret it by now!”

The armored vehicle was drowned out by tens of thousands of zombies. The monsters were squeezing and crashing against the defensive layers. The concussion grenade incessantly let off maddening noises, causing the zombies to be in a constant state of frenzy. The safe and wide space in the vehicle was now hell on earth. Jasmine covered her ears. She shouted hysterically, her body tumbling alongside the violently shaking vehicle, "Jason, you absolute b*stard! Turn this bloody thing off!" Her exquisite makeup was ruined and twisted by sweat and fear.

looking at Jesse he exhales, “Good, you’re awake. I came by to tell you that there was a rampage in hospitals nearby, the say a crazed woman is looking for someone…” A chill runs down my spine. “I may not know much about these things, but I know a cop can’t show up with a bullet wound, a fake name used to register him into the hospital and few days later, the world erupts in chaos. I know it’s related, and I wouldn’t want my patient, much less someone who saved the world to end up dead.”

How true is that statement for this damned world we live in, where nameless horrors always lurk in the dark, ready to catch us, trap us, and drag us to eternal ruin. I believe that insanity is a release from the restrictive limitations imposed on us by the expectations of our culture, our race and, above all, ourselves. The madman does not care what others think of him, because what leads a person to dementia is often the revelation that the world around him is not as safe or stable as he would like to believe, that it is a populated place by monsters that lurk just beyond the thin veil of reality, that can tear apart a man's soul as well as his body and destroy his mind.
