The men watched as the Diviner circled another series of dance steps. The beads, and cowries that clothed her, oscillated, and swerved in rhythm to the wooden gong that vibrated the serenity of the cold night, whose handler was a ghost in the scene. Sulugede, the dance was so-called. It was, it is and will always be the dance of the spirit. Drunk and possessed by the spirit of the ancestors, the diviner paused and started making gestures with her two hands. The numerous beads lining her wrist jingled with the cowries and both followed their wearer without complaint.

Luke leaned against the door with his arms crossed over his chest. Luke was tall and thin, with the right amount of muscle for a dancer. His brown hair and green eyes made him look like any other attractive man in the city. Like Devin, Luke was a retired dancer, but instead of modeling he was offered a role as the choreographer for the New York Ballet and had been in this role for the past twenty five years. Somewhere along the way he met Dax and they started up their illicit contracts with the dancers who didn't make enough money from dancing alone. Sure enough, there's a small square where people are dancing and singing. "We have to join them!" Deo exclaims, grabbing my hand. I follow her and we head right to the center. I look around at the surrounding cottages with their bright lights and moss-covered stone walls. I grow lightheaded all of a sudden, either from excitement or this odd realization that I feel happy. I'm glad to be here. We start to dance. Nobody pays any mind to us—they're in their own world. I'm a terrible dancer, but Deo makes the whole experience so much fun. For a few hours, we let go, forgetting everything that's happening all around us and losing ourselves in the moment.

More than that, their facial expressions were fierce. They weren’t afraid to distort their pretty faces. They both looked powerful and aggressive.

She had never once allowed her emotions to get the better of her and here, everytime he came closer to her, things used to go awry. "Ajabde." She said in a firm voice to herself. The Kalbelia dance was performed by the women of Kalbelia tribe who curled, spun and twirled like snakes under the hypnotic music of the Been, Dufli, Morchang, Dholak, Khanjari and Khuralio.

The place was quiet, except for the early birds here and there. I pushed the entrance doors to the hall I used to dance in, making a smile break on my face as all the memories I'd made in there sprang to mind. The inside of it looked the same too, just like the rest of the campus did. Closing the doors behind me, I returned to the hallway, reading one poster on the wall to the next. As per usual school tradition, there'd be a 'welcome back' dance that coming Friday evening.
