It had probably even reached the mailroom by now.
"Dexter, how's Angie? Is she feeling any better?" Joseph's eyes gleamed with light and excitement.
Seeing hope return to Joseph's withered face, Dexter felt even worse inside. He didn't know how to respond.
"Grandpa, we're already divorced." After a moment of hesitation, Dexter decided not to hit him with the harshest truth all at once. After all, Joseph had only just escaped death. He couldn't get too excited or upset.
Joseph's gaze dimmed, but he then said, "So what if you're divorced? As long as she's willing to keep the child, you'll always be the father. It's not like she'll forbid you from seeing your own kid."
