"Because of me," he replied. "You were meant to vanish, but I intervened. I’m giving you a second chance. You’ll return to the human world as a soul reaper."

He's such a heartless evil. Why is he a deity, anyway? He should have been a demon. I think it suits him better.

"First you didn't even change your name dude" I said causing him to chuckle "the demon Dáinn is known to be a bringer of death and collect the souls of the damned, kinda like the grim reaper but worse to be honest" I said letting out a small laugh myself as he smiles at me. "If it wasn't the name that gave you away it would have been your aura" I stated "you hold yourself to a higher standard and try to push power and superiority on those around you as a form of dominance and control" I stated.

I have had many names, Hel, La Muerte, Shinigami, Psychopomp, and Thanatos. Many in North America know me as the Grim Reaper or just plain Death for short. In this moment, and under this demon’s rule, I am Thanatos.

But she didn't stop. Two demons were still locked onto her. One of them moved in female form—long, black hair snaking behind her like a living thing, eyes glowing with icy blue light. The other was shorter, all solid muscle—he didn't wait or strategize, just charged forward like a living battering ram. Rea backed away—and then hit a tree. The female demon smiled. "That was your last step, mortal." Despite the pain, Rea drew her backup knife from her boot. It didn't matter how much it hurt—she didn't show it. She braced for the strike, the final blow... Then something flashed past her. She didn't see it—only felt it.

Damon steps forward, his human form completely restored but his face looking entirely demonic in its cold execution. He drives his boot directly into the dying man’s shattered chest, cracking his ribs with deliberate pressure as he leans down. “Who sent you?” Damon whispers, his voice carrying a low, dual-toned resonance that makes the mud beneath his boots freeze. “How did you bypass the security grid?” The dying Reaper lets out a hollow, bloody laugh, blue foam leaking from the corners of his mouth as his eyes lock onto Damon’s face.

“Katarina de’Basille.” Kat sat forward in her seat, leaning her forearms on the desk and giving Ruben an intense stare. “What is the name Basille to you?” “Basille? There is only one Basille that I know of…Lord Basille…One of the ninth level High Demon Lords in the Demon Realm.” Kat looked intensely at Ruben with her eyebrows raised waiting for him to make the connection. Suddenly his eyes went wide and they lifted to hers with a look that was hard to decipher. She smiled ever angelically at him, such a huge contrast from the formidable mouth of teeth just moments ago.

, Master Damien asked now in his demon form, his pupils black and a scythe in his hand. "Ah. The Reaper. We should have a rematch someday". "What about now?" "Now? You're not worth it. I suggest you heal from the blow you just received. But since you're still standing, I'll give you a little treat anyway", he said. As he opened his hand, a dust-like black substance came out and formed a demonic dog. He lifted Luther up with a wave of his hand. "We'll see soon", he said with a smile. As he disappeared, everything started to move again. Damien watched the dog grow into a monster, then quickly dispatched it with flame. It immediately disintegrated.
