“You can take her but let me warn you now, she is not a female you can charm so if there are any ideas running around in that pubescent hormonal head of yours— “Thorne!” Mala yells in embarrassment. “Understood,” Daz nods. Mala groans. “You’re ridiculous,” she mutters to her brother. Ben cuts in, taking control of the situation. “Thank you Daz. You can show Mala to the bunker and get her a hot meal after all the training.” “Okay,” Daz waves Mala forward and they head towards the bunkers together. I place a hand on Thorne’s arm. “He’s a good male,” I tell him quietly. “And he won’t hesitate to keep her safe.”

Nathan said pointing outside the living room window. I followed his fingers and looked outside, and there it was. Their new home, it wasn’t far. Just a few feet away from ours. I smiled, they were part of the Moonlight Pack now—just like me. This was real. We were finally free. From Zander. From the Blood Moon pack, and finally together again. My hand still in Nathan’s, we stood from the other couch. Releasing my hand from his, I walked over to my parents and wrapped my arms around them.

“Not all chosen descendants can wield the powers of the Moon, only a select few throughout time have been blessed with the gifts. The powers have been known to include, but are not limited to; Telekinesis, the power to move objects with the mind. Hydrokinesis, the power to move water and manipulate the tides. Aerokinesis, the power to manipulate air and weather. Shape shifting, the power to morph oneself into another form. Gravitokinesis, the power to manipulate gravity” “Mum. Are for real with this?” I said closing the book. “I absolutely am” she said snatching the book from me, “Come sit, sit” she said ushering us to the sofa. Mum sat down on the coffee table in front of us and leaned in c

Then— Malik clapped his hands. “Alright, emotional reunion done. Where are my babies?” Kimani turned her head slowly. “…Your babies?” “Yes,” he said confidently. “I’m their favorite uncle already.” “You haven’t even met them.” “Details.” Zendaya rolled her eyes. “Ignore him.” Too late. Malik was already at the bassinets. And then— He froze. “…Whoa.” Silence fell for a moment. Even him. Even Malik. He looked back at Kimani, something softer in his expression.

Ethan My unofficial aunt and uncle, Shelby and Sam, are riding with me in the SUV on the journey to the resort. Sam was once Beta for the corrupt Alpha King Gene, though Sam has always been an honorable man that I count as family. I’m not crazy about having my aunt in harm’s way, but there’s no stopping her from coming to see my biological aunt Kelly, mostly because Kelly’s daughter is pregnant, and they haven’t seen them in so long. Her son, Isaac, is set to be the Alpha in this territory once we handle the problems here. Apparently, descendants of the original rogues who took over when the place was abandoned think they can waltz in and claim it as their territory.

Once they got off, Malen gave them a short nod and a little wave before she left; the two of them walked off in different directions the moment their boots touched the platform.

They drift off to sleep with their breathing steady and their dreams hopefully filled with joy. And as I watch over them like a guardian in the shadows, I vow once more to keep them safe. For as long as I breathe, I will protect them from harm, while cherishing every moment we share and honoring the promise I made on that quiet evening. And I know that I will always find strength and purpose in their innocent eyes and warm hearts. Together, we will forge through the challenges that lay ahead, bound by love and the unbreakable bond of family. *** With the threat of my former taskmaster and other dangers now taken care of, a sense of peace settles over our kingdom like a gentle cloud.
