Alyssa exclaimed after seeing all the things on a particular page. "What Is it, Alyssa?" Asked Berk worried. "Don't worry Berk everything is going to be fine, let's go," replied Alyssa as she keeps the book on the floor. "Are we done?" Berk asked surprised. "Yes we are," Alyssa replied and they both left the room. As soon as they turned and left the room, the book closes back by itself, and the book cover reads; 'THE BOOK OF SHADOWS' and then the book disappears. . .

Magic tightening like a net. He began to speak, chanting in an old tongue. But before the incantation could finish, the book burned. Flame shot up from the name — not wild, but deliberate. Purposeful. It didn’t destroy the page. It sealed it. The gold letters glowed red-hot before cooling into black glass. The Archivist stepped back, eyes wide. “The book has accepted her.” The woman Councilor snarled. “Then we’ll erase the page.” I stepped forward.

Started to melt, flowing up the Auditors arm like oil. CRACK. The white gold book broke in half. The pages did not fall. They turned into a cloud of dots that got sucked into my right eye and deleted. The Auditor stumbled back its coat falling apart the numbers on its fabric turning into nonsense. "The thing we were looking at... Is gone " the Auditor whispered, its line fading away. "The Bank... Says this place is a loss." With a sound the Auditor turned into a pile of harmless silver dust that covered the floor like frost.

I start, but the words die on my tongue as he disappears between the shelves. I sit there, stunned. My fingers still hover where the book had rested. What just happened? I am so close to uncovering a way to break the mate bond and it just slips out of my grasp just like that. At midnight, back in my room, I find the same black volume placed neatly on my desk. It’s the exact book I had been reading earlier in the restricted section. I flip through it and immediately notice that several pages are missing. The sections that have been ripped out are the ones I had been focused on. The chapter on cleansing rituals is gone, along with the information about breaking mate bonds.
