Devon dragged on and he waited patiently for him to reach the main point. When he finally did, Kendrick cursed under his breath and pinched the space between his eyebrows. "I thought we were having a great conversation," Devon murmured. "She kept nodding and listening. I promise I didn't know she had no clue. Until I saw the look on her face. And damnit, I knew I'd screwed up." Yes. Devon had screwed up. He had screwed up big this time. Kendrick had underestimated his unreliable friend. Their dad requested Devon come home. Devon gets an unexpected call from Evan and Mina one day while he was in a business meeting with his staff. He learns that their father has fallen gravely ill and is in ICU. He returns home to see his father and the family. But Devon has all intentions of returning back to Chicago. He's only planning to be here a few days. Until he gets the requests from Evan and his father to stay and help run the business until dad gets well. Devon reluctantly agrees, but for the love of his younger brother he remains.

"You even know my name are you a fan? Devon asked. He must be a fan, well it's his lucky day, Dev considered signing an autograph for him before leaving the hospital. " Nope, not a fan", the nurse replied.

“Because of me.” He took another lazy sip, eyes glinting. “I’d hoped you wouldn’t find out from hacking into my safe.” My breath stuttered. “I was supposed to be married to Alpha Voltage.
