I looked up and, with horror, stared at Drake. He was hunched over, his over six foot frame too tall for the van. He was thin, yet muscular. His brown hair was cut short and hair sprayed down so thickly it moved no more then a plastic Ken doll's. He glared at me from behind his black rimmed glasses.

He doesn't know that the man standing before me is not the one I was supposed to be standing with. Blake Parker. Twenty-four year old Co-CEO of The Parker Brothers. A billion dollar company that deals with selling buildings for profit and pressuring people to sell their land and companies to them. He is a lady's man and sure does love his booze. He has never liked me, probably thinks I'm after his brother's money which makes me think that he has a personality disorder considering that he is always against his brother.

Across town, Kyle was headed into the office of one Dr. Paul Blunt. He needed to see what the fuck he was up against. Not that he saw the other man as competition, he wouldn't allow that shit. But he needed to get a look and feel for this guy to see what it was that she seemed to want to hold onto.

“And you’re not taking her.” Alpha Coleman smiled faintly, like Alpha Thomas’s outrage was exactly what he’d wanted. Blake stood just to his right. He hung his hands at his sides, but his eyes were on me the whole time. “From where I’m standing,” Blake said smoothly, “she’s unclaimed, unwanted, and technically rogue.” My stomach twisted as a pit of dread formed in it.

I knew he was the beta of the strongest alpha and ten times stronger than me, but I wouldn't give up without a fight. "Alexis, why are you reacting like this? I know what I did was wrong, but at least give me a chance to explain. You don't have to side with this criminal just because you're angry with me," Blake said, holding my shoulders and looking at me, pleading with his eyes.

I nodded my head and we both stepped out of the car. "It is beautiful." I said. "Yeah, Blake is really good at this." He said as if he was just seeing the pack house. "And who is Blake?" I asked as I looked at him. He was standing close to me already. "My Beta." He answered. "Ohh..." "Are you ready?" He asked. "Yes, I am." I said determined.

“I didn’t tell you because… I don’t live with that identity. And I didn’t think it mattered.” “That’s not an answer,” I say quietly. Frederick opens his mouth, but I lift my hand. “Not you. I want to hear it from him.” The room feels smaller. Blake straightens, his shoulders squaring like a soldier stepping onto a battlefield he’s avoided for years. His voice is calm, but there’s a fracture beneath it. “My full name is Blake Drakonis.” The name lands like a gunshot. “Drakonis?” My body goes rigid.

He spoke in a sincere voice and my heart skipped a beat. What was it he wanted to tell me? I leaned into his seat while maintaining eye contact with him. "What do you wish I promised you?" I raised an eyebrow at him and he sighed softly. "That's whatever I tell you now you must receive it with an open mind," he said firmly and my brows knitted. Something was strange with Blake like last night in the bathroom. "Okay, " I hesitantly answered back. He sighed heavily as he got hold of his desk," Lily, my full name is Alpha Blake Smith of Blood Moon pack," he began and I frowned.

But the blow never came. The heavy oak door exploded inward. Shards of wood flew across the room like shrapnel. Tristan tackled me to the ground, using my body to shield his own from the debris. I hit the floor hard, my head bouncing off the rug. A low, guttural growl filled the room. It vibrated in my teeth. I looked up, coughing through the dust. Blake stood in the doorway. He wasn't a wolf, but he wasn't entirely human either. His eyes were glowing a violent, radioactive silver. His canines were extended, sharp enough to tear through bone. He was shirtless, his chest heaving, and his skin was flushed with the heat of his shift.
