Atleast I had people to back me up if Damian's gang showed up. “So, let’s get down to business,” Dexter said with a wink. “What do you want me to do, my Lord?” I leaned forward, my voice as cold as ice, “Sell their company. Ruin them. I want her on her knees, begging me, kissing my feet. Do not stop until she...begs.”

But instead, I grabbed the final shot, tipped it back, and tried not to think about how gravity suddenly felt ten times stronger. That was the last coherent thought I had before Dexter appeared out of nowhere, practically lifting me off the ground. “Alright, champ, let’s get you home before you actually pass out,” Dexter said, half laughing, half hauling me towards the door. “But…” I protested weakly, dragging my feet. “I gotta… defeat… Evans.” “You did, buddy. You totally crushed him,” Dexter lied, as any good friend would. “No, no, no.” I mumbled, flopping against him like a rag doll. “He’s too... smug. and his glasses... they... they have powers.”

But I followed him. I could not stay behind. Outside the gates stood a tall man with a thick skin and deep blue eyes. Alpha Kael. He looked even stronger than the last time I saw him. Alpha power was already smelling on his body and he was breathing like thunder. His eyes found me immediately right there as I got lost in thought. “Annie,” his voice cut across the room. “I have come for my mate and my pups.” The woods went silent for a while. I felt another kind of power as Damon touched me.

He studied her for a long beat before his large, calloused hand surfaced from the water. His fingers traced her jawline before sliding down to her throat, where her pulse thrummed steady and fast. He could feel Lilian’s ancient energy thrumming just beneath Ruby's skin. "You’ve changed," Dexter rasped. "This isn't the body of a slave anymore. You have enough power to tear through half the Silvermoon pack on your own. But being worthy... that’s about more than just muscle."

How was this allowed? It was the most ridiculous match-up she had ever seen. Would anyone even stop this match when it went sideways?

Orange whined, rubbing the sore spot dramatically. “Because all of you are irritating and keep muttering nonsense,” Dexter snapped, his teeth almost grinding together. For a split second, his expression reminded me painfully of Alexander when he was in one of his moods. Orange, completely unfazed, brightened again. “What if Ms. Ali has other friends she can introduce us to?” He high-fived Malix enthusiastically. “Shut up,” Dexter growled. “There’s a huge cage inside this pet store. Don’t make me buy it for you.”

She had even given him a ring to aid his escape from the demons' trap, which made it so obvious that he was going to fall in. We were finally in school and it had taken us almost an hour before we could be able to settle down, as the entire class seemed to be so giddy and overly excited to see us, especially Xander, who had turned from a ferocious beast to a gentle man who cared for even a flea. We were like heroes, especially Lena, whose special and unique powers had spread around the whole clan. She was the only one who could kill Xavier, the most powerful Alpha. The fact that she made Xander fall in love and seized being a devil made her more heroic.
