Healing The Devil I Once Loved

Healing The Devil I Once Loved

That was the point. I turned to face him fully with my smile still in place. “We were just exchanging opinions,” I said lightly. “Opinions?” he echoed, glancing at the others. “Is that what we’re calling it now?” One of the men chuckled. “More like stating facts.” “Facts tend to change depending on who’s telling the story,” I replied before I could stop myself. The woman let out a soft, mocking laugh. “Oh, here we go again. The mysterious defender.”

The Substitute Bride Of The Blackwood

The Substitute Bride Of The Blackwood

Diana said something I didn’t quite catch and I asked her to repeat it and she did and I responded and the conversation continued and I was fine. I was completely fine. I was also, apparently, completely incapable of not knowing exactly where the woman at the bar was at any given moment, which I discovered over the next twenty minutes while having a perfectly normal conversation about the intersection of narrative structure and financial reporting, which Diana found more interesting than it sounds. The woman moved.

MARRIED TO MY ENEMY’S SON

MARRIED TO MY ENEMY’S SON

Which was, I realised within the first two minutes, exactly where we were meant to be not at the centre of this but beside it, present, witnessing something that had a life entirely its own. The conversation that followed lasted three hours. Not because we filled it artificially. Because it filled itself moving between the topics that two women with long histories and strong opinions and genuine curiosity naturally moved between when they found each other worth talking to. Diana asked my mother about her garden. My mother asked Diana about London. Diana told the story of leaving Raymond not the full story, but the shape of it, told with the same direct economy she brought to everything and m

Dear, Ex Husband. You Cheated!

Dear, Ex Husband. You Cheated!

Herzl's eyes light up, and he gives a sleepy grin. Lisa smiled at him and sat at the edge of his bed and began to tell the story, in her best storyteller voice. She makes all the different voices. And Herzl, on the other hand, listens with great interest, his eyes growing wider and wider as the story unfolds. As the story reaches its climax, Herzl interrupted his mother's story. “He's not going to blow the house down, is he?” Herzl asks, his voice full of concern for the little pigs.

Sheila
This book really needs to be edited. People’s name change half way through the book. Plus it changes from having a son and daughter to just having a son. Not sure if the daughter reappears as I have not finished the book due to the confusion with name changes

The story about Alex, Lisa&Andy is interesting. But author, please don't hang your readers just like that. It's so unprofessional to insert other topic/different story just because you can't finish the first one. Be a responsible author.

My Boyfriend Is a Demon

My Boyfriend Is a Demon

The boy puts both hands on his waist and lets out another laugh. "I thought that after last time, you had finally learned your lesson. I thought you had grown stronger. Instead, not satisfied with the consequences of your own dumbness, you repeat the same story." "This time it's going to be different. Everything is going to be different." "Of course it will." Shandra listens to the entire dialogue, but can't understand a single idea. What were they talking about? What was in her blood? And why was it so hard for them to speak clearly?

Claimed by my Ex-husband's friend

Claimed by my Ex-husband's friend

he said, “it is me Lucas. I will sit and we will talk. Tell me where you were the night the first man died. Tell me who you met. Be plain. Tell me small things.” She looked at him long, like a woman testing the weight of a coin. Then she began to speak. Her voice was small at first. She told a story about the market. She named traders and small shops. She spoke of a baker with a crooked nose and a trader who sold cloth. The story had times and small things. She said she walked to the border, that she met a merchant who traded horses. The details came out steady. Her voice sounded practiced. It did not tremble.

My Father's Best Friend, My Obsession

My Father's Best Friend, My Obsession

The scene had been sitting in my head all day while I carried trays and filled cups, and now that the restaurant had quieted down the words came easily, flowing from one thought to the next while the characters inside my story stepped back into life. The heroine stood across from the man she loved in the chapter I was editing, the entire world telling her their relationship was wrong, yet none of those voices could silence the truth beating inside her chest. ‘Let them talk,’ she told him stubbornly in the scene. ‘They’ve always talked, and they’ll keep talking long after we’re gone.’ I paused briefly and smiled to myself before continuing to type, my shoulders relaxing as the rhythm of writi
