I felt a slight pressure on the barrier and increased my focus so it wouldn’t give way. “Not bad,” Lucas muttered as he continued to probe the dome-like presence in my mind. I didn’t want to admit it, but the compliment felt good. I flinched when Lucas applied more pressure to the barrier from multiple points. He commented softly through the onslaught, “Let’s see how strong you really are.”

Lillian nodded vigorously at what her mother said, her voice still failing her. Margaret let out a dry chuckle, “oh please, stop this foolishness. Contended with what you have? What do you have? No tell me, what do you have, what are you contended with? A house in dire need of repair and that is not even yours? You are sick with breast cancer but you can’t even afford money for your surgery, yet you say you are contended with what you have. Spare me that rubbish and take the money you and I know you need.”

Hard. Maybe not hard enough, though.

Christan is currently in his early forties. He’ll be forty-three soon. His sons are already teenagers. He sighed, thinking how he could properly parent them. They say adolescence is the most difficult period when raising children. They get a lot of questions. There are bodily changes. You need to teach them about the reality of the world.
