For a moment— Nothing happens. Then— The air snaps. Sharp. Violent. And the path— Disappears. Gone. Like it was never there. I blink. “What—” Something moves behind us. Fast.

Then— It disappears. The man vanishes. Not in a flash. Not in a dramatic collapse. He simply— Isn’t there anymore. The space he occupied empties. The air settles. Like he was never there. I freeze. My hands still outstretched. My chest tight. “Elara…” Adrian’s voice is quieter now. Careful. I lower my hands slowly. “I couldn’t hold it,” I say. “I know.” “It wasn’t like before.” “I know.”
