[Juliet's POV] The music at the celebration party continued. Surrounded by a crowd, Alison basked in the crowd's repetitive praises. Suddenly, a deafening boom came from the city walls. Overlapping growls and roars of zombies tore through the atmosphere. Terror erupted instantaneously. People in the crowd screamed, "It's a swarm of zombies! A massive swarm of zombies!" A guard ran over, staggering along the way. "The lightning barrier on the right of the base has been breached. There's a massive gap. Zombies are coming through soon!"

I looked calmly at the dark barrels pointed at me and asked, “Are you sure you want to do this? If Ruth comes back, you’ll die a very ugly death.” “She’s not coming back!” Dan roared. “There are three S-class zombies out there. She’s dead for sure!” “Stop wasting more time. Shoot him!” Callie shrieked. Dan was just about to pull the trigger when suddenly, a deafening crash exploded behind them. The door behind them was violently smashed open, and a mutated zombie burst inside with a furious roar. Everything happened so fast. It all happened too quickly. Callie, scared out of her wits, immediately grabbed Dan beside her and shoved him toward the lunging zombie.

The moment it looked like the money might stop, he panicked faster than anyone else. "So, me being treated like a joke is the bigger picture you're talking about?" I shot back, wiping my tears. "Jack, do you really think staying home to cook and care for our child is harder than what I do? That I could just earn money by tapping on a keyboard?" I didn't give him any chance to respond and ended the call at once. Almost immediately, I received a text from my mentee, Mandy Ziegler. "Are you okay, Suzie? Mr. Lewis completely lost it. He's smashing things in his office. Please don't do anything rash. If anything goes wrong with Mr. Skylar's deal, the company's quarterly revenue is done for!"
