My body ran cold, my eyes darted to Conrad immediately, "disconnected..." Before I could wrap my head around everything, Romeo and Gavin rushed down the stairs, Gavin had a handful of hickeys around his neck, whatever made them rush to the dining room must be serious. "Addison is in trouble," Romeo said frantically typing on his laptop, my face drained out of my color as Conrad and I rushed to him, he was connecting an IP address to the laptop. "Wait... what... what do you mean trouble?" I tried to remain calm but it wasn't working, my head was in a total mess.

The Crescent Pack seemed nothing like the Midnight Howlers Pack. It was small. Not weak enough to be insignificant, but nowhere near powerful enough to stand against a dominant pack like ours. The guards rushed toward our car to open the doors. Unease crippled under my skin as I hopped out and stood at the last known location of Tyler Adams and Zelda Lysarian. With every breath I took, my lungs constricted with restless agitation. The air was suffocating for me as I could feel the scent of my father’s blood still clinging to it.

Sarah muttered, rolling his eyes. Favour adjusted his glasses. “I’m going to sleep for a week. Maybe two and never read any book that has to do with zombies again.” “Boring,” Justin said with a grin. “Me? I’m hitting up the biggest buffet in town. And I’m not leaving until they roll me out.” “You’d be doing that even if there wasn’t a zombie apocalypse,” Collins quipped, earning a round of laughter. Jeff smiled faintly. “I just want to see my family again.”

It was surrounded by those 'walkers', stumbling around like they were in a trance. "What are they?" He breathed out, staring in disbelief. He chugged some water, letting out a sigh of hydrated relief. "They call them walkers." She pointed the screen down slightly to allow him to see easier and switched to the website she was reading. "There's information on them, finally." As Adam read, she watched his expression change from confused to terrified. "This is like an actual zombie movie." He spluttered, barely able to get his words out. Behind them, a stirring caught their attention.

By the end of a fortnight, the compound had another twenty recovered zombies joining their cause. Kendra and Rex were kept busy hunting to keep food on the table. Eddie proved to be an adept hunter. He also was wise to the areas that the zombies favored. They took advantage of both of these things whenever possible.

It was wobbling towards us. 'Where is that thing going? Please don't let it come near me,' Maddox whimpered. He always would look away at the sight of the Zombies while I was watching The Walking Dead. 'Don't worry, I won't let it hurt us.' But what is happening? I pondered. It did a little zig-zagged walk closer to us, but that wasn't what caught my attention. It smiled at me - like showed me its teeth and her lips curved upward. "Maybe she sees you as her next meal," Carson assumed.

Addison's eyes were turning red and the right side of his face was transforming into a monster. I and Nathan stepped back from him, observing what was happening to him. “Addison!” we both exclaimed in shock as he growled, tearing off his shirt, and the bat was nowhere to be found. Wings started growing behind Addison as he was taking the form of a dangerous half-monster, half-human, his toes webbed in long claws. "Kill a monster or get killed.." the words came ringing in my head. How would I kill a friend even though he was annoying, what would our poor pity pack think of me, a murderer?

Devin sighed and gave me a pity look. “He’ll come around.” He assured me. “In the meantime, it’s a beautiful day and the sun is up. You wanna go for a walk?” he asked and shrugged his shoulders like it was no big deal, only if he knew what he just did. He just invited a vampire for a walk, in the sun. Good thing I’m a day lighter. “Sure.” I said and stood up from the chair I was seated. “So, what do you wanna talk about?” He asked swinging his arms beside him while staring at my face making me a little more uncomfortable than I already am.

The two were locked for some moments. “I am Zuba”, she said softly. “I am the princess of the kingdom of Borney of the vampire”. “But I am werewolf”, said Jason “Yea, its fine” “Sure?” “Yea, we’re in this together, to turn our hates into love, but they won’t allow us”. She said. “Can we do this?” “Why not”, said Jason hesitantly. “Off course we can, let’s get on it” But before they could figure out on the next step, some passers-by that saw them screamed. They began to shout.

I stopped, then let out a short, cold laugh. "It didn't die peacefully. It barely made it a year. And it died choking. I still wonder what Zoey was trying to get. All that smoke in my house, those weird rituals. Suffocating a helpless little thing." I looked straight at him. "What exactly was she praying for?" His lips shook. He tried to talk, but nothing came out. "But you were thorough," I said calmly. "You let Zoey live in the house for six months. Scrubbed everything clean. Even replaced the wallpaper." I paused. "You just forgot one thing—the hamster. And you forgot who I am. I'm a doctor."
