When she mentioned chicken and The Hunger Games, I kinda figured she hadn’t actually watched it because that’s what I thought when I first heard of it.

Blaze is one of my best friends and so the little ruse should actually be fun, plus I get to have one of my best friends stay with me in my favorite place for awhile. The morning of the party I am in my room getting dressed when I hear a knock on the door and Blaze says he will get it. I stop getting ready for the party when I hear yelling coming from downstairs. I go downstairs and see Blaze in nothing but a pair of shorts and a very pissed off alpha. We sat down together, a trio bound by our shared struggles, and began to devour the remnants of my meager income. Adelina's soft voice echoes. My heart fills with relief and I open the door. She has a movie playing on her laptop, horror I think, and a bag of snacks slung over her shoulder. "Duty calls," she chirps before plopping on the bed. Adelina is already sprawled out on my bed, her laptop propped up on a pillow, and a bag of chips in her lap. The horror movie's playing, but she's more focused on her snacks than the actual plot. I sit beside her, glancing at the screen as a suspenseful scene builds up, but my attention keeps drifting back to Adelina and her never-ending supply of junk food.

[Atticus] We all went out to pizza after the photoshoot. Liliana opted out. She was already overwhelmed by the morning’s activities. So our pizza lunch ended up being a status update on the progress of our game. The waiter didn’t bat an eye when I ordered a pint of beer to steady my nerves. A few minutes later, the door opened again. A guard stepped inside, carrying a tray of food. Hazel’s stomach twisted. He set it down. “Eat.” She didn’t move. The guard’s eyes darkened, and before he could say another word, Darius entered. His presence filled the room, suffocating. He crossed his arms, “Eat.” Hazel met his stare, defiant. Then, Darius sighed. “Don’t test me, Hazel.” She clenched her fists, but hunger gnawed at her. Slowly, she reached for the food.
