“Eat.” I didn’t move, my eyes narrowing as I studied him. “Who are you?” He placed the tray on the small table by the bed and straightened. “Darius. Brother of Beta Henry.” He was trembling as he spoke. He probably saw what I did to Henry. “I don’t want his food,” I said, my voice low and soft. I didn't want to threaten him. Darius sighed, his expression unreadable. “You need to eat if you want to survive. Whatever fight you’re planning, you won’t win it starving.”

Almost all of the food was washed away and only a few were left, leaving the citizens of Thalia weak with starvation. The king decided to divide the remaining food to the citizens. Unfortunately, with the little of what they have and the large population of his kingdom, the food wasn't even enough to last for 2 days. Hunger led to desperation and greed. The people started to sin. They started to steal and kill. So many lives were lost and so much blood was shed. The war lasted for 3 days, it was declared as the Dark Hours, the day where the people were driven mad because of hunger and the blackened sand that was caused by the dried blood and ashes of its citizens.

He practically thrusts a brown bag into my hand, stands back, and grins at me. As the first bite hits my tongue, I let out a moan, because it's delicious. "See - I told you." Night Eyes says, leaning against the wall and grinning. I smile and continue munching. I must admit, it feels good, and I'm beginning to feel whole once again, plus the headache that had been budding is ebbing. "Relations of Ash Thunder! A voice booms suddenly. Out of the blues, a doctor appears in his green scrubs and white overalls, and I pale. I thrust the items in my hand into Night Eyes' chest, and walk to meet the doctor.

I tell him and he moves to the edge of his seat. “If Mr. Himes was here then you definitely have an issue. They only send him when they want a problem to go away. What I don’t understand is how you are still breathing.” Xavier says to me and now I am really concerned about what I have gotten myself into. “Are you saying that I should be dead?” I asked him as I placed my hand on my stomach that all of a sudden began to hurt and growl. “Ms. Thomas have you eaten today?” Xavier asks and I know he heard my stomach growl.

Without making a sound, she took her share on the dining table and divided it into three parts. She also fetched them clean water. Seeing that, Odger smiled mockingly.

She stopped kicking for a few seconds, before jumping on his spinal cord. I heard a breaking sound before he regained consciousness with a final scream before dying. “Now my feet are dirty!!”. She hissed with disgust. **** HAILEE'S POV. I was so hungry. It had been hours since I last ate anything. My stomach growled with hunger pains, and my throat felt dry. I tried to find water, but there was none in the room. I had no idea how long I was going to be trapped in this room, and the thought made me even more anxious. I paced back and forth, hoping that someone would come and rescue me. But the door remained locked, and I was stuck in this small, windowless room. The air was hot and stuffy, and it was hard to breathe.
