Divided We Stand Divided We Fall Novels & Stories

I dial my emergency number since my phone is in my hand. I watched Candice trying to flip herself and struggle to be free then she kicked the guy making her free. We both run and we went to an dark alley. Then we heard a gun shoot and we automatically frooze. Were both shivering of too much fright. "Hello babe!" And that's the last time I ever witness since I feel a needle in my neck making my eyes closed feeling dizzy. ************************************ Present I ran as I watched her being drag out of nowhere. I feel afraid since I didn't know the place where in. All I can hear a bird chirping.

And suspended somewhere between everything falling apart and everything being recreated, there we stood, stronger than ever. Together. A storm gathered near. But we were overdue for a change.

I took a deep breath and started walking the closer I got, the more nervous I got but I had to swallow it up. As I stood the altar, the elders told me to kneel before my people. "LUCAS ALDÉRIC, you kneel here before your people and goddess, are you ready to free your father of his title and take it upon yourself to cater for all the need of your pack, are you ready to be the judge, father, protector, lover, giver and leader of this pack" the leader of the elders spoke "Yes" I said with a deep breath "Are you prepared to be willing to put everyone here before yourself, to be as selfless as you can be"

The first fracture in the fragile bond they had built. Snow melted on her cheeks. She didn’t know if it was from the cold or tears. “Elara,” Lucian whispered, voice cracking, “Let me explain.” But she couldn’t breathe. She couldn’t move. She couldn’t speak. Marek opened the car door. “Elara you can come inside.” She looked between the two men One who frightened her and One who broke her. Both who wanted her. And she whispered four words that sliced Lucian open: “I don’t know you.”

For a moment, he stood there stunned, silently averting his gaze in guilt. He knew all too well that most of his company's big decisions had been run by me before they were made. Others might not have realized it, but he did, and that truth gnawed at him. I didn’t bother dancing around it. “Now that you know who I am, you should understand just how easily I could crush you. “You’re disgusting. If I were you, I’d finalize the divorce and stay far away from me. “If you don’t, you won’t survive what’s coming next. I could ruin your name in minutes.”

The sheer absurdity of it all made my stomach churn. I took a big gulp of the iced Americano beside me to relieve the tightness in my throat. ‘It’s over,’ I told myself. Our paths had diverged for good. Unfortunately, Simon did not think of it that way. Early the next morning, my phone vibrated nonstop. I received one WhatsApp notification after another. The first message read, [Irina, it’s me.] Then, he continued, [Pick up the phone. We need to talk.] The next sounded more like a plea. [I’m sorry. I was wrong.]

“Adrian, from the moment your attention strayed, we were never going back.” Panic seized him. “No, we can. As long as we love each other—” “But I've already stopped loving you,” I cut him off, without mercy.

He chuckles. “Avethandwa Sisulu, will you marry me and belong to me for the rest of my life?” Sana, we are here. When did we get here? “Firstly, I want you to know that i belong to myself. I can never belong to someone. Why can't you belong to me first? And do you know how many people divorce on a daily basis? Well, i know and—”

With a whoop Cassi yanked the ball back, returning it to its rotation above her head. We were tired, dirty, hungry and pissed off. Our friends had been cruelly taken from us one after another, our commander killed. And for what? The Officials deal with the faction of the fallen had come roaring to light right before this mess. A bunch of pussy ass idiots who were out to save their skins and their families, at the expense of everyone else. I couldn’t tell which side, if any, had won and it sickened me that we lost so many for potentially nothing. It was only by chance Cassi and I were still alive and standing, and even then we were on our last reserves, having pulled ourselves together to hel

“Lily, do you have any wishes for the new year?” Perhaps my expression stood out too much in the middle of all the celebration. Daniel suddenly called my name. “I want a raise,” I said. My voice wasn’t loud, but everyone heard it. The room suddenly fell silent. People slowly turned to look at me. The smile on Daniel’s face disappeared. “What did you say?” He walked down from the stage. He tossed the microphone aside, and it let out a sharp screech. “Say it again.” He stopped in front of me.
