The picture frame clattered to the floor, landing at her feet. Yusuf was smiling at her, a small, sad smile. He was wearing a plain white shirt with slacks, and his greying hair cut low. Wordlessly, he walked towards her and picked up the picture while she took several steps back. He held it for a few seconds, simply staring at the image and smiling before he set it down once again.

I did my morning azkar. I yawned and stretched my hand, I went to the kitchen for a glass of water when I met Yusuf on the way. The glass fell and shattered on the floor because I was shocked. Yusuf's hair was dishevelled and dirty. He had many black bags under his eyes, his light chocolate eyes were dull like a soulless being. He had loosened weight, he looked thin like malnutrition.

Yusuf asked, his lips lightly brushing her temple. She took a few seconds to respond. Then she laughed. A muffled, almost disbelieving laugh. "As if I were undone… and put back together more carefully." Yusuf smiled against her hair. His hands caressed the top of her bare back, unhurriedly, in wide, sure circles. "That is what a good session should do," he murmured. "Not just excite… but heal." She pulled her face back slightly to look at him, her eyes still moist but clear.
