Only a slow whimper and a scent mixed with fear echoed through the space as Xaden’s gaze turned toward Derek. Who had been stuck on the wall with a dagger still embedded in his chest, a courtesy of Syzar. He was slowly dying. Xaden then crouched over him with dark eyes and bloodlust running through as he spoke. “And now, you are next.”

Which means it’s only a matter of time before Damon comes knocking. “I was thinking you back me up with your warriors, and we finish this once and for all,” Xaden says. “If we don’t, Damon will eventually trace everything back to you, funding my coup, the weapons… all of it. And when he does, he won’t come alone. He’ll come for you. For us. So we strike now, while he’s still digging.”

Xaden clenched his fists and for a little moment I assumed he was going to hit something. But he pulled me into a hug, surprisingly. I hugged him back, burying my entire face in his chest area. I only wanted to breathe him in that moment. Was this the end? Was I never going to see my Kaylee again? "What are we going to do?" I asked with my tear stained face when the phone went dead. Xaden looked at me with pitiful eyes and planted a soft kiss on my forehead. "You don't have to worry about anything. I'm going to handle it. We are not going to listen to him, he's crazy. They all are. I know exactly what we have to do."

I won't gain access to him freely without losing my life! "The only way to get Xavier is through his son. Get his son trapped and lure him out!... Now go in there and fight with him!" Hutton commanded, leaving my jaw dropping as great fear gripped him. "What did you say?" I asked, my eyes widening as I froze in place. "Xander stays in that garden over there whenever there is a break period. He had warned everyone not to go inside. You are going there to kill him." He ordered, and I knew quite well that my life was ending for real.

I ask. “Your dad called me. Regina died early this morning.” Kaden answers. “That doesn't make any sense. Her injuries were healing and as far we knew nothing was that serious.” I comment. “I know; your dad is having them do an autopsy on her. The doctor told him that there was no reason for her to pass suddenly. If this was going to happen it should have happened within the first 24- 72 hours after the accident not almost three weeks later. She still hadn’t regained consciousness but besides that she was healing just fine.” Kaden explains.

Ada asks still holding her knees. “I was hated by my father, he tried to destroy me, but my mother’s father kept me safe. I rose from the ashes and killed my father,” Mr. X smiles as he says it. “Not really, he is still alive, but his business is mine. His name in the industry is dead. And he has no idea it was me.” “You have a lot to be proud of. So, I’m guessing your name is not actually X,” Ada looks over at him and meets his eyes.

Take Finn to—“ She doesn’t finish her words, because at that moment in time, Xaden crosses her, and the next thing we all see after hearing the sharp, wet sound of fangs cutting ruthlessly into skin, is blood splattered on the floor. I blink. Xaden just tears into the boy’s throat with brutal precision, and for a heartbeat, no one moves. Even Liam straightens beside me. Finn’s body hits the ground, falling dead on the floor. Gasps erupt in the hall. Professor Imogene stares at the dead body with wide eyes, then turns to Xaden sharply. “Xaden, what have you done?!” Even Darian freezes, his eyes widening in clear shock. Xaden looks… calm. There is no trace of regret in his expression as blood

They must have gone back to the academy for something. Harley narrowed his eyes when he saw the cig in between my lips, but he chose not to mention it as he stopped in front of me. “We need your help,” Harley rushed out. “We have a problem.” “Well, spit it out,” I muttered, not in the mood to play guessing games. “Stop being an ass for a second, Zach,” Harley demanded. “This is important. Xaden doesn’t have much longer to live. He needs our help or else he’s going to die soon.”

I can’t even look at him straight in the eye. “Xaden did not die,” I continue, and he shakes his head. “Babe…” his gentle tone tells me that he thinks I am in denial. “I saw Xaden with my own eyes. There was no life in him,” he adds. “I know, Xael. I thought so too. The Lycan king got to him on time. He got there before those rogues could kill him,” I explain everything, and he just looks blankly at me. “I am sorry. I was so angry and hurt. I blamed you for Xaden almost dying, but I was wrong.”
