Prologue
In the Werewolf Royal Pack, deep in the forests of Germany, lives a King and his mate. Unlike Kings of the past, King Caleb is not fated to a she-wolf, but rather a warlock. King Caleb crowned his special mate as King Consort Lewis and set Lewis above all others in the kingdom.
The Kingdom didn’t mind the two kings, they only worried for an heir to keep the kingdom safe and running smoothly. Caleb’s younger sister, Princess Ariella, had a troubled youth but settled in as Luna of her first mate’s pack in Upstate New York. Upon his death, she assumed all power to hold for her son Montague. Ariella was given a second mate, Anderson Conrad. By him, she gave birth to triplets, Bär (Bear), Rose, and Duke. Upon his birth, Caleb named Bär his heir and Duke as the next second in command. Should Rose not find her mate, Caleb offered her the title Crown Princess. The three Conrad children have been raised by their parents at Montague’s Pack, Conrad Pack, and visited their uncle often. Our story opens on the night before the triplets turn 18. Bär, ever aware of his destiny, is single and plans to stay so until he finds his mate. Rose is dating Monty’s future Beta, Davis. Duke is dating Davis’s twin sister, Gabby. Davis and Gabby still have a month before they are 18, so for Duke and Rose, tonight is not important. They both honestly hope they DON’T find their mates. Another important item of note, Conrad Pack is home to the world’s greatest Supernatural University. So, waiting for Bär at midnight are hundreds of females and males of different supernatural species. Vampires, Witches, Fae, Hybrids, and of course, Werewolves, all have gathered inside the arena to see if they are the next consort. All the females are out tonight in their finest party outfits. There are even a few gay males out tonight hoping that they might be the next King Consort. A little ways off is a quiet girl who was raised by Conrad’s top warriors. She and Bär had a mild flirtation but tonight she sits away from the crowd with her own mate. There is buzz all around at the thought that any moment Bär Conrad will step out and claim his Consort. Inside Bär dreams of the mate in his heart who will rule beside him. Could she be just on the other side of the door? While it’s close to midnight in New York, USA, it’s morning in Germany. It’s almost 6am and the Omegas are stirring. Ingrid Huffman and her twin daughters, Emma and Ada, report at this early hour to start work. Ingrid is the personal secretary to King Consort Lewis, and she has to get his schedule ready for the day. The girls are new house maids.
