With one last pitiful look, he put his front paws up onto the edge of the tub, and Clyde lifted him the rest of the way in. The bath was surprisingly uneventful, aside from the put-out huffing that the dog kept up while Cookie lathered his fur and carefully wiped around his bad leg. But now I can't see him, and I'm not sure what I should do. There's so much blood. It flows down Mad Dog's chest and pools on the floor before my jeans soak it up.

I dashed into the small bush by the lake, grabbing a few herbs I knew that could stop the bleeding before rushing back to her. Squashing them in my hands, I squeezed out the juice and poured them directly at the source of her bleeding. I repeated the same process more than once until I saw the blood began to dry off. Why wasn’t she healing like a normal wolf? I backed away after I was done with stopping the bleeding. I needed to clean myself up, to wash away the blood on my body so I could tend to my mate properly. The last thing I wanted was to frighten her further when she awoke.

Very slowly, he retracted himself from me and he licked the wound. “What's the licking for?” I asked once he was done. “To heal you. Otherwise the puncture wounds stay there. Some vampires like that but they will hurt like any other wound and I guess you don't want to meet your friends with small punctures all over your neck,” he said with an intense look and he got up, pulling me and the picture with him. I checked my phone and saw a missed call from an unknown number. Damon let out a breath and I looked at him. His eyes were still locked on me and he cleared his throat, waking himself up. “Get your things. I will get Moose his things. My house is not prepped for a dog yet.” Damon said and

Nina asked me as I winced from moving my leg. “I’m fine, but Nathan did. Do you know how to tend to a bullet?” Nina looked at me incredulously. “If you start telling me what is going on, I will take the bullet out,” she said, not looking like she was moving from her spot. I took a look at Nathan’s hind leg and nodded. Nathan needed that bullet out. Blood was streaming down his leg, matting his dark fur. It was nearly impossible to see the wound clearly because of his dark fur, and I was silently grateful for that. I’ve learned I don’t do well with blood.
