Kyle mumbled and hugged Kate's neck tightly. After giving her son a kiss on the forehead, Kate set him down. Kyle laughed and leaned over to give Kate a cheek kiss. His eyes were as wide and gleaming as a priceless black pearl from the depths of the ocean when illuminated by the sun. Kyle is the cute one. His pupils are a deep brown, and his eyes are huge and bright. His auburn hair is as soft as silk. His overall appearance is the icing on the cake for his skin tone being perfectly neutral.

Whenever he found the opportunity, he relished the chance. Kyle dove lower, aiming right for the town square, not far from the church, hoping that his sudden and dramatic landing would stir up some activity, perhaps even flesh Caitlin out. If that despicable little girl was here, he wanted to waste no time in catching her. He was already itching to go back to the 21st century, to continuing his war, and to be done with this petty little distraction.

Kyle was crawling on the floor while holding a bottle of beer. “I am a worm~” Kyle said. Chyalen was crying and laughing like a crazy man. “It hurts! My breath caught, just for a moment, as if my body had reacted before my mind could catch up. I watched him as the crowd carried him forward, his laughter cutting through the noise. He raised the trophy like it weighed nothing, letting people touch it, shouting something I couldn’t hear over the chaos. “Who is that?” I asked quietly. Star followed her gaze and smiled knowingly. “Owen-Kyle.” The name settled into my mind with strange clarity. Owen-Kyle. I watched as he was set back on his feet, immediately surrounded by friends who clapped him on the back and talked over one another. He listened, laughed, responded easily, his attention moving effortlessly from person to person.

I went to stand up to greet them but I was having some difficulty getting my balance. “No one, Luna, please stay laying down. I understand you are not having the easiest pregnancy.” Kyle came forward to shake my hand. He was the definition of tall, dark and handsome. His black stubble beard lined his jaw over his chocolate covered skin. He was bald and reminded me of Shemar Moore. He had a tattoo of a snake that started at the base of his neck and traveled down his spine that really acciented his muscular frame. He was wearing an american flag bathing suit. He lifts the dinosaur high above his head and growls loudly. “Rawrr!” he announces proudly. I let out a breath that almost sounds like a laugh. “That’s a scary dinosaur you have got.” He nods vigorously, curls bouncing. “This one eats bad guys.” “Is that so?” “Mhm.” He shifts closer, pressing his warm little body against my arm like he is already decided we are friends. “But he doesn’t eat you. Kyle stared at her waiting for what she was going to say concerning his request. "Uhmm...Are you joking with me?" Eva questioned as she got down from his thigh and gave herself a little space from him. But instead of giving her an answer, he stood up and dipped himself in the water. His actions were so quick and it confused Eva. "Kyle?" Eva called out seeing that Kyle had swimmed below the surface and she couldn't see him. "Kyle stop this. Please come back to the surface. Kyle?" Eva called out as she started to get worried about his safety. She went closer to the water and at that same moment, Kyle swam to the surface and pulled her in.

Rather than try to block them out again, I chose to ignore them and focus on Davien, whose eyes were already on me. I assumed Dolf had told him about my struggles. His brows furrowed slightly, and his gaze softened, a flicker of sympathy crossing his features.

Kyle placed the takeaway packets on the desk and said sheepishly, “I keep forgetting about the key.” He didn’t, but Dorian would play along. He knew that despite being a person who knew Dorian more than anyone else, Kyle still liked to keep to his boundaries. Sometimes Dorian felt mad and wanted to ask if the other felt scared of Kai. But his wolf restrained him every time. It’s ironic how Kai always made him think twice before he took any rash decision, yet everyone called his wolf ‘feral’ and ‘untamed’.

And I was confident that I didn’t make a mistake in trusting the people and vampires around me. “Let’s go?” Kyle extended his hand to me. “Okay.” When I reached out, we both walked forward into the water. From the moment the cold water touched my body, I suddenly felt good. It was such a refreshing feeling!
