Don't Call Me Stepmom Book Novels & Stories

"This is the best material I've had in decades. I'm putting it in my memoirs." "You are not writing memoirs," Margaret said. "I am definitely writing memoirs," Daniel said. "Chapter one, working title, My Sister In Law Dreams of Business Attire Arachnids." "I will disown you," Margaret threatened, though she was fighting a smile the entire time. "You can't disown me," Daniel pointed out cheerfully. "We only just discovered we're related to each other at all." "I'll invent a way," Margaret said darkly, and the table dissolved into tired, grateful laughter, the kind that came from people who badly needed a reason to laugh at anything at all.

My guy friends and I want to show coach how determined we are to make the win this weekend. “Hey,” I hear my stepmom’s voice from down the wide hallway. She has just come out of her room. “Did Roxy get home alright? I haven’t seen her yet,” she says. My stepmom is a good-looking woman, with golden hair that she wears in a bob cut to her shoulders and a slender body from all the Pilates she does. I shrug my shoulders. “Yeah, the brat is in her room.” “Don’t talk about Roxy like that. Honestly, when are you two going to start getting along?”

“What?” “I spoke to your coordinator.” Kai straightened. “You what?” “You’re already registered. The schedule's been sent to your email.” Kai pulled out his phone quickly. “…You didn’t even tell me.” “I just did.” “That’s not the point…” “You’re living here,” Noah cut in, calm but firm. “You follow structure.” Kai stared at him. “…You’re not my parent.” “No,” Noah said, meeting his eyes. “But you’re in my space.”

I told Roy to call me his stepmother. Oh, God. Panic swelled inside me. I wanted to crawl into the nearest closet and never come out. My thoughts spiraled uncontrollably until a small, innocent voice pulled me back to reality. "Mommy, can I call Ryan 'Daddy' now?" Eve's eyes were wide with anticipation. She was waiting for my answer. Ryan, for once, didn't step in to save me. I barely nodded, blushing. Eve squealed in delight. Ryan scooped her up, pressing a kiss to her cheek before shifting his gaze to me. He took a step closer, his arms encircling my waist, pulling me against him.

Today was my father's wedding day. When I got off the plane in my princess dress, the first person I saw was a charismatic woman who stood out from the crowd. It was Brenda Sanders, who would soon be my stepmother. My father had chosen not to remarry all these years because of me. I was very happy for him when he finally met someone he liked. Everyone said that she was a renowned sculptor. Her work was beautiful and gentle, just like how she looked.

"You must be happy that the future alpha Atlas is your stepbrother now." When I was on campus, Donna approached me and suddenly spoke in a sarcastic tone, I stared straight ahead, keeping my demeanor in front of her. Where was the fun she was referring to? Ever since Mom got married, I'd had a horrible, hard day in that house thanks to Atlas' treatment. So I thought I might feel calmer when I came to school, but instead, they came up to me and started talking about Atlas.

Chapter 14 The parents came home just after seven. Richard’s suitcase hit the floor in the entryway with a heavy thud. Diane’s voice floated in from the kitchen a minute later, bright and exhausted from the weekend. Ava stood at the top of the stairs in one of Noah’s hoodies and a pair of soft shorts, still sore between her legs, still faintly sticky no matter how many times she had cleaned up. The second she heard her mother’s voice her stomach dropped and twisted at the same time.

I wanted to believe that as much as she clearly did. A knock came at my door. “I have to go,” I whispered, and hung up before she could answer. My mother stepped in just as I set the phone down, my face still not fully composed. “Mom, do you need something?” “Roxy, dear.” She crossed the room and sat on the edge of the bed. “You were so quiet at dinner.” “I am fine, Mom.” “I know when something’s bothering you.” She took my hand. “Is it your stepbrother? Dorian says he’s a good man. You don’t need to be afraid.”

“Lucy… Lucy, tell your dad to save me! I was wrong! I really know I was wrong! That b*st*rd isn’t human! He sold me… he sold me—” I didn’t let her finish. I calmly put the call on speaker, walked into Dad’s study, and placed the phone gently on his rosewood desk. Mary’s desperate crying and begging instantly filled the silent room. “Honey! Listen to me! I was forced! Save me! I’ll be your servant for life—” Dad calmly turned a page of his newspaper. The crisp sound of paper drowned out her screams. Then he said flatly, “Tell her to get lost.”

She said, “This is a gift for you. Take it.” She gave me a phone. It was the latest model. It was expensive and cost over 4,000 dollars. The shiny phone seemed to sparkle, and I could not take my eyes off it. My eyes, my head, and even my hands were out of control. So, I shamefully accepted her gift. And in return, I called her “Stepmom.” My dad relaxed, and Scarlett turned to him with a smug smile.
