She simply stood there, breathing hard. Dominic didn't look at her again. He turned to the projection screen, staring at the red line that represented Dorothea's life. The graph pulsed and shifted, tracing the path of her blood through the system. "Since she's a finished product... since she's the Golden Sample..." He let out a low chuckle that sounded chillingly dark in the empty warehouse. The sound echoed off the walls, multiplying into something sinister. "Then I'm definitely not letting go. Whatever Victor wants, I won't let him touch so much as a fingernail."

Hearing the words aloud set off a burst of denial and panic. “How this plays out is your choice.” The man reached down to open a drawer with a shrill squeal of metal on metal. Youssef’s skin crawled as the man withdrew something and set it on top of the desk. A soft black case made of material, rolled up to conceal whatever lay inside. The man let his hand pass over the top of it, almost a caress. One edge of the material fell away to expose something silver and shiny in the lamplight. It glinted against the black cloth, the sight of the stainless steel surgical instrument making Youssef’s heart rise into his throat.

“Try and make me.” He closes the space between us, and before I know it, his hand comes up slowly and and for a second, I think he’s going to grab my arm. But instead, he touches my back. No, he strokes it. Long fingertips trailing down the exposed skin, making me freeze. His touch is ice and fire all at once, sending a shiver straight down my spine. He leans in, his lips brushing the shell of my ear. “Do you know what I do to bad girls, Silver?”

Silver turned her purple eyes towards us and they glistened as they met Mac’s. “It’s done…” I said softly. “It’s done…” Mac took a step towards her. The world stopped. Time stopped. Everything stopped. I didn’t care what was happening between Tessa and Graham behind us. I didn’t care what was happening around me. All I could see was her—my mate. But suddenly something happened. I continued. Then I went on to give Mr. Silver details of how I had almost fallen victim of Donald’s antics, which was the reason he ran away from Paris for years, and by the time I was done, Mr. Silver was stony with fury. “That bastard,” he stated. “He is teaming up with someone close to you, Mr. Silver,” I told him, and then I waited for a few seconds for him to digest what I just said, and to also prepare him for the bombshell I was about to drop. “He is allying with your wife, Mr. Silver,” I informed him.

Silver said, turning to leave. Jeremy grabbed Elena's hands as she said she also followed Silver as they were about to leave the classroom. "Elena please, don't. Just listen to me, give me a minute," He begged. "Elena, what are you doing? Let's go, don't listen to him. He had nothing to say other than lies," Silver said, calling Elena and walking out of the classroom. "I still don't see what Gaby saw in him that made her attracted to him and agree to date him in the first place," Silver muttered as soon as they got out of the classroom.

Almost sad. "Be careful with her," he said quietly. "She might be dangerous” "How?" "Do you? Because I don't think you understand what you're getting into.
