I was on a field stained with blood. Everywhere I turned to, I saw a dead body that had decayed with flies hovering over the body. "The Lycan clan has caused the downfall of the witches clan. For this, you will be cursed for all eternity!" A loud voice resounded in my ears causing my ears to bleed. "You will walk for an eternity!" The voice resounded causing more pain in my ears.

"The elder seals beneath the iron mines... Damon broke them. He didn't sign a treaty... he made an offering." Damon’s body tilted its head, the bones in his neck popping loudly in the quiet valley air. When he spoke, it wasn't his arrogant, desperate voice that echoed through the basin. It was a dual tone—a horrific mixture of Damon’s mortal vocal cords and a deep, ancient, scratching bass that sounded like thousands of dry autumn leaves scraping across a fresh grave.

The morning sunlight attacked me like it had been waiting all night for this exact moment. Right through my thin curtains, stabbing me in the face like I’d personally offended the sun. I groaned and rolled over, pulling the blanket over my head. Not today. Please not today. But the second I shut my eyes, last night came rushing back. The alley. The men. Him. And that voice, low and final: “Doom has begun.” I sat up so fast my pillow hit the floor. My heart thudded against my ribs, too loud for morning.

She drew them all in with a motion, then banged on one with a digital baton. The sound resonated all throughout the circuit, and shook deep into Command Intelligence. Its surface rippled slightly, as the waves of sound pushed against its code. Then she struck the drums over and over in thunderous waves. Her rhythms crashed into ComInt with such force that it attempted to reinforce itself from her. But its attempts were to no avail.

The final guideline was written in a jarring red font. [On rare occasions, the station will transmit the Predator's Song. When this occurs, remain completely still and hold your breath until the broadcast concludes.] Hold my breath? Were they trying to asphyxiate me? I pouted and clicked on [I Agree and Start Listening.] The so-called 'Echoes from Below' were nothing more than just some white noise, like the wind moving through an empty corridor or a massive creature slowly exhaling beneath the water. Rumble. The sound was low and heavy, with a faint electrical hiss like a bad microphone feed.

Tears were all I had left. His sickening grunts filled the room again when I heard it. A distant, subtle boom. The room seemed to shudder. Morex was too lost in his own pleasure to notice. The sound grew louder, resolving into a deafening roar. Morex finally took notice and stopped, listening. Then came several more thunderous booms, like gates and great walls crashing in on themselves. These were followed by war cries of guards and soldiers. They soon morphed into screams of retreat, and the thunder of a giant beast rampaging through the halls. Shouts, screams of pain, the resounding crash of more stone. Then a brief, chilling silence fell over the dungeon.

The deep, echoing hum of the Citadel Obsidian’s core systems was unsettling, almost suffocating in its vastness. Eva and Ryder moved through the labyrinthine hallways, their footsteps synchronized with the rhythmic pulse of the facility. The sterile walls of the Citadel seemed to close in on them, amplifying the weight of their mission. The air was cool, filled with the scent of metal and something faintly chemical—something that felt too controlled, too cold.

About doom and consequences and the world burning. Let it burn.
