Lukas snapped, already gearing up to try again.
“Let me.” Aiden stepped past him, calm and deliberate. He crouched to check the frame, fingers brushing the rusted lock. Then, with a precise kick near the latch, the old wood gave with a splintering crack. The door swung inward, banging against the inside wall.
Aiden straightened, glancing back with that maddening composure. “There. Try not to break yourself before we even get inside.”
Lukas blinked, momentarily impressed. The way Aiden moved, precise, confident, barely breaking a sweat, did something to him. Under other circumstances, he’d have made a filthy comment about it. But right now, all he could think about was Kara.
