Kael’s POV The campus looked like a castle carved from bloodstone—brooding spires, grotesque arches, and a ticking clock tower that somehow followed your gaze like it knew your sins. But inside? Twelve boys to a room. Noisy. Cramped. Smelling like damp testosterone, silver, and barely washed sheets. “Damn the luxury of this place! But this dorm sucks big time,” Damon hissed, his eyes darting from the chalky white walls to the neatly aligned beds separated by a thin corridor—six on either side like rows of livestock.

"Originally there were four of us. Finn, Ryland, Grant, and me. Our freshman year we all ended up roommates in the quad." He says the term with a deep voice but explains before I probe him. "The dorms all had a quad room on each floor. It was the room at the end of the hallway, which used up all the extra space. Since it was bigger, they put more of us in them. Living with three other guys was not always the easiest thing.

Doris was my first experience with another girl. She and I were roommates in our freshman year at college, crammed into a two-bed, two-desk, one-closet dormitory room on the third floor of a six floor dorm. We didn’t pick each other; we were assigned our rooms by the college’s computer and at first we didn't like each other. Even though we were both eighteen, both from small towns, and both eager to start the college life, we were quite different.

He replied, "So, this is what the third rule is all about? You've been suffering from nightmares all this time, and you never thought to mention it to me?" His question caught me off guard. I couldn't help but wonder what good it would do to tell him about my nightmares. After all, he couldn't do anything to stop them, could he? I thought to myself. So, I responded, "It's not worth mentioning. Besides, according to our rule, you shouldn't have entered my room." I could see he was offended by my response, "I was worried about you. How could he not prepare her for this? “I see,” she said weakly. All too well. “He is my roommate. This other fool is Dillon. He comes over and watches the game and plays cards with us.” “Wassup.” She hadn’t even given Dillon another look, she couldn’t, she tried. Her attention was drawn to the opposite side of the room. Swallowing the nerves in her throat, she looked around and saw a small poker table in the corner of the living room with a deck of cards and a few beers.

My teammates hit me with a string of question marks when my hero stood idle and failed to hold the base. Frustrated, I quit the game and opened WhatsApp. The message was from Jacob Zeller, who lived downstairs from me. He was my roommate in college. There were four of us sharing a dorm, and we were pretty tight. While we were interning, we decided to job hunt together and moved into a cheaper apartment to lower our rent. Once everyone had a job, our hours were all over the place, so we each got an apartment to keep from getting in each other's way. We still grab a meal together from time to time.

He blinked at the number on the door then he turned to me " No way!... This can't be right" He snatched a paper in my hands and checked the number " Room 3A,Dorm B. This is... their dorm " I frowned." Their as in...? " " Sovereign Circle, " He took a cautious step back like the door might grow teeth. " This is their floor. These are their rooms. You're not supposed to be here unless you're fucking rich like them ". He stared at me, baffled " You must be some big fish then" Before I could even respond, the door opened and my breath hitched as I took in the surrounding. The dorm was nothing like I had imagine, it looked like some kind of hotel suite or a penthouse.

I felt safe. “Come on, I’ll show you your room,” Rainey said, looping her arm through mine. “You’ve got the one next to mine. I made sure.” The room was simple and cozy, sunlight pouring through the window. Nothing fancy, nothing staged. After home felt like a pressure cooker, this felt like a small slice of mercy. I hadn’t even set my bag down before Rainey collapsed onto the bed beside me. “Okay, listen,” she said, eyes bright, “you got here in time. The Mating Game Ceremony starts in two days.”

Privacy is a right everyone is given. I cut through the seldom used dorm wing, it doesn’t have an official name but considering this is where the young adult omegas without mates or children live I felt the name was fitting. I keep my stride slow and soft down the hard wooden floor knowing the early morning hours means that most of the people in these rooms are still sleeping. I slip silently through the back door and jog the short distance to the dining hall.

And before I could ask for assistance, Hugh scoops me up into his arms with a smirk playing on his lips. I gasp, but Hugh doesn’t pay attention to my reaction. In fact, he doesn’t pay attention to anyone’s reaction, even those who are gathered downstairs – Dwight, Evelyn, and several Omegas. My cheeks burn with embarrassment as I wiggle my body, fearing the judgmental stares of his packmates. “Hugh, put me down,” I demand, my eyes narrowed, my teeth gritting.
