Invisible Doctor
Adrián stepped closer, setting his briefcase aside.
“What did the doctors say?” he asked without preamble.
Milagros straightened in the chair, without fully letting go of Ayden’s hand, as if that contact was now necessary for her too.
“The doctor spoke to me a little while ago,” she explained. “They confirmed he was given a strong benzodiazepine mixed with another substance to sedate him quickly. And…” She looked at Sofía. “They found traces of something that caused a significant allergic reaction. That’s why he has the welts, the shortness of breath, and the extreme drowsiness.”
