July’s POV: One minute I was in a valley filled with beautiful lilies; the next minute, the entire valley was covered in blood. I opened my eyes immediately because I know this shit isn’t real. My racing heart settled immediately I saw Douglas at his desk typing away on his laptop. I think he sensed my eyes on him because he stopped typing and turned around. I shut my eyes immediately to pretend I was still sleeping, but it was useless because our eyes had already locked. “Good morning, sleepyhead. Don’t even try pretending; I know you’re awake.” He said, tickling me all over.

He laughed at the irony: rats scared of him. But Kyle was faster than they. He zoomed in, using his instincts, on the Queen rat, and darted at her, grabbing her hard on the neck, reaching up, and injecting her. The rat hissed, trying to bite him, but Kyle chucked it far from him. He then reached out and grabbed another rat, and another, and another. In a dizzying array of speed, he managed to prick at least a hundred rats before they could flee from his super-fast reflexes.

“I was just looking around. That’s a lot of effort to catch one dog, isn’t it?” “They’re not here to catch a dog. The dog is the bait.” There was a sound coming from behind the gathered women. Two men were in a pit they were digging. They clambered out, picked up the dog while being carefully watched, and dropped it into the hole, which they then began filling in again. “Unfortunately, we have a slight rat problem. The dog’s full of poison.” “It’s a lot of effort to catch some rats,” I said. Laney appeared next to me. “You haven’t seen the size of their rats.”

A noise report. My jaw tightened. I felt it then…heat crawling up my neck, rage licking at my control. “There’s nothing down there for you,” I said evenly. “The basement houses laboratory specimens. I have permits.” “Specimens?” he echoed. “Yes,” I replied without missing a beat. “Genetically sensitive laboratory rats. A special breed. Highly reactive. Harmful if mishandled.” It wasn’t even a lie. Not entirely. The officer didn’t look convinced. “I’ll need to verify that,” he said, stepping closer. “Unlock the door.”

The company had been attacked before. So, in spite of the fact that the mutineers had cost him some money, and that Zuon Inc. had obtained some valuable intelligence, Doug Douglas was very much alive. The blacksmith sat at the ancient desk and started to type. Not because he had to, but because he enjoyed the kinesthetic feedback.

A tall and a short with wears cloak that covers their faces, and one wears a plague mask. "Doctor, the rats have grown larger since you feed them upon the mountainous corpse at the mountains." the shorter one in a cloak says. "But of course, every one of us has a role to play. Even in death, the Chief and his Hand will serve nutrients for my pets." the Doctor says as he places a rat the size of a cat on the table. The rat heard the Doctor whistling and followed her commands. She then commands the rat to attack the two other members at the table.

Douglas grunted, Larry was of no use to him if he was going rogue. "Have you been hearing voices?" Larry continued happily, "What do they mean?" "Larry." Douglas hissed, losing his patience, "I'm in the midst of a crisis, so if you have nothing to tell me, get out." Larry frowned, but remained in his position. He didn't shake with fear like he normally did whenever Douglas barked at him. Grudgingly, Douglas rose to his feet and carried one of the bottles and two of the cups Larry had poisoned earlier. If anything, Larry was only increasing his frustrations. He needed his liquor to get through the morning without murdering anybody. An idea popped into his mind.

He wore a new smile but it was more than easy to see it didn’t quite reach his eyes. "Cats have nine lives," she very swiftly replied. "Well," he said. "Let’s hope to see that’s the case then. It’s a pleasure." With that said, the lab technician nodded once to Doctor Jules before taking the samples and entering the laboratory. He passed through a series of doors until eventually, he was completely out of sight.

Ethan I walked back and forth along the edge of the laboratory, my hands clasped behind my back, observing Dr. Elio as he eagerly mixed chemicals in their respective bottles. The laboratory was crowded with machines and wires, and a strong, awful smell from the chemicals made my stomach churn in discomfort. My gaze scanned the rows of countless steel cages, where wolves, once free and proud, were now confined under their captor's cruel gaze.

As she wanted to think of a way to get out of these chains, that voice called out to her. *Alexandra* *Find me* The same way this was happening, the human lab rat in the next room was hearing her own voice in his head. The two fell into a short dream state. The two saw each other from a far distance and were walking towards each other. They continued to walk till they had reached each other and were shocked on facing themselves. *I'm the lab rat here. He made me this* he said *My blood will be used to create a beast out of you, I'm sorry*
