Pathetically Beautiful
So, I did the only thing I could— I hung up.
The phone slipped from my fingers, clattering to the ground, but I barely noticed. My body was already moving, my legs carrying me faster and faster, driven by some unknown force that I couldn’t control. I ran.
The city streets blurred past me, the echoes of my footsteps mingling with the rapid beat of my heart as I sprinted toward home. Toward the one place where I might find answers or maybe, just maybe, some sense of peace. But deep down, I knew that peace was elusive, just like the life I had been trying to escape. And yet, I couldn't stop myself from running, even if I didn’t know what awaited me at the end.
