Clara looked from one officer to the other, her expression shifting from controlled to faintly annoyed, like she couldn’t believe she was still having to explain herself.
“You’re acting like I harmed him,” she said, her tone sharper now. “When all I did was stop what was already being done to him.”
The officers didn’t respond, so she continued.
“Do you even know what was going on in that house?” she asked. “Do you know who was in charge of his treatment?”
One of them leaned back slightly. “Go on.”
Clara exhaled through her nose.
“Richard Greyson brought in a doctor,” she said. “A so-called specialist.”
