Luna Zara looked more stubborn than my Alpha. They were just trying to get away from each other like the two opposite poles of the magnet. I got a word from the werewolf world that our pack wolves were growing desperate. They couldn't just believe in Alpha Jackson's words that his son would produce an heir soon. The wolves are eager to see Luna because they still hold doubts that Alpha Jackson was making up this story of his son being married in order to secure Alpha Xander's throne. Through my glowy golden eyes, I cast a glance at the door of the bedroom where Luna Zara had shut herself up.

A over Sheila herself, always siding with the Healer, Sheila suspected that desire ran both ways. She didn’t understand why. Dr. A was rather plain, just as Aria had been. Yet now, both Dr. A and Aria, two bland and ordinary women, were somehow standing between Sheila the title of Luna. It couldn’t be allowed. Sheila dialed the number for the hospital on the phone in Lucian’s office. He had a private line back here, which meant that even if the head housekeeper picked up her phone, she wouldn’t hear this conversation.

He looked every inch like a professor who took great delight in pouring over scrolls of information. “Good afternoon, Ms. Morgan. I'm Dr. Voss Vanginkel. Please, don't be alarmed, Sebastian gave me your name.” The doctor stated. His voice was surprisingly deep. “Good afternoon Dr. Voss. I have been expecting you. And please call me Luna. Unfortunately, Sebastian isn't here; he has been held up in an important meeting.” Luna stated as she gestured for the doctor to enter. Walking towards the kitchen, Luna called out to the doctor. “Do you want anything to drink?”

Alpha Asher said without taking his eyes off Luna. The door opened and Dr. Williams, the pack’s elderly doctor, walked in carrying a black medical bag. He was in his sixties with gray hair and kind eyes, and he’d been the pack doctor for over thirty years. “Alpha,” Dr. Williams said respectfully, bowing slightly to Alpha Asher. Then his eyes fell on Luna and his eyebrows raised in surprise. “Luna? What are you doing here?” Luna’s face flushed with embarrassment. “I… I’m not feeling well, Doctor,” she said quietly, looking down at her hands.

“He says he’s Mrs. Luna Bexter’s lawyer.” Silence. I froze, my hand halfway to hanging up. Lawyer. Luna’s lawyer. “What’s his name?” I asked, my voice lower than I intended. “Dr. Maurício Alves. He insists it’s urgent. And confidential.” I leaned back in my chair, closing my eyes, trying to resist the urge to laugh—or punch a wall. Luna. She won’t answer me. Won’t respond. Won’t look me in the eye. But she sends her damn lawyer.

“Wren did say that the amount of wolfsbane in your body was lethal.” My baby almost died. Just thinking about it made me so fucking angry. I was ready to tear the world apart. “That’s weird.” Emma mumbled. “Not for you.” Drake smiled. “You are the True Luna. You can do what most wolves can’t.” Emma looked up at him and gave him a small smile. Jealousy burned inside of me. She shouldn’t be smiling at him. But what pissed me off even more was the way he was looking at her.

They were expecting to see a huge recovery in Celia, however they were all confused at the little recovery that Celia had received from the Luna’s blood. “What happened? You said Celia would wake up by now.” Lorcan questioned the pack doctors as soon as they arrived. He is starting to get anxious once again when he saw that the pack doctor looked more clueless than they were last night The Pack doctors did not know what to answer. The Luna’s blood that she had received should be more than enough to wake her up. How could they explain this? “We just need more time to allow Miss Celia’s body to recover,” one of them answered when the Luna’s blood was supposed to also speed up that process.

Alpha Carlo teased us, chuckling and making me blush more. Fortunately, the Luna came to the rescue. She elbowed Alpha Carlo and took over the conversation. "Don't mind him. He should have introduced me to you, not teased you." She smiled before extending her hand to me. "I'm Helena, the Luna of Crimson Howl. It's Amerie, right? Nice to finally meet you, Amerie. I hear a lot about you." The way she behaved reminded me of my mother. She was indeed the real Luna.

The chamber smelled of damp stone and old blood, every word echoing like judgment against me The first council spoke from the center “The mark burns because the Luna rises. You cannot hide it forever.” I responded coldly and dismissively “She is nothing to me.” Murmurs rippled as my sleeve slipped, faint light betraying me. The second council leaned forward “You are bound to her. The prophecy chains you. Why reject?” My wolf snarled at the mention of Luna, clawing at my chest as if mocking me. The third council’s voice was firm “You are Alpha. The prophecy foretold of the Luna born from a bite. She is yours.”

I’ll have to find out what it is later. I knock and when I hear Corinna’s soft reply to come in, we all enter. “Oh, Luna, I ...” she stops when she sees Meadow. “I heard you were trying to work today and the answer is no, Corinna. You may not work until the doctor clears you to. I’ll speak to ... is your doctor a woman or a man?” I ask. “Dr. Wallace is a male doctor, Luna. But I can work. I know the other omegas need my help. I don’t want to get in trouble for not pulling my weight.”
