Draco *** I wasn't into that sneaking around shit. At twenty-two I was a grown man who'd never had to do that shit even as a kid. But this was a delicate situation. Just because I felt something didn't mean I was about to jump in with both feet. There was too much at stake for that shit to happen.

She caught up to Draco, who was already at the door, indicating they should step out to talk. “Hey, Unc,” she called out. Draco had always felt like family to her, slightly younger than her father but just as battle-hardened. He gave her an apologetic hug as she approached. “I’m sorry I wasn’t around for the battle. I would have stopped him, you know I would have,” he said, his eyes glistening.

Draco continued his pacing without answering. “Draco!” Mitch growled. “WHAT. IS. IT?” Draco stopped, startled like he was just knowing that Mitch was in the room. He turned and looked at Mitch. “I need a fucking drink.” He muttered and that only alarmed Mitch even more. For one, Draco was always calmheaded and he never cursed, and he never drank any earlier than 11 a.m. “No drinks,” Mitch ordered. Draco sighed and collapsed on a couch. “Are you going to tell me what if=s going on? Or are you going to continue being a trainwreck?”

The pages shimmered, inscriptions revealing themselves in elegant, terrifying patterns. As I read, my heart sank. Draco’s origin, his roots in an orphaned village where witches had been burned alive, revealed a story of vengeance and darkness. He had a sister, also killed, leaving him a vengeful soul from a young age. The more I read, the heavier the air became, my chest tightening with the weight of the knowledge.

“Are you nervous that Draco won’t like it when you make a mistake?” “A mistake? No… Draco is actually very attuned to my anxiety over events like this. He’s been very supportive. I’m nervous that I will embarrass you, and people will think you are associating yourself with someone like me, who doesn’t have manners. Savanah asked, but by the sound of her voice, I knew it was a statement more than a question. “Yes,” Draco replied. He had calmed himself enough to continue his story. He looked like it was a task he needed to conquer. “As soon as she burst into flames, all the teenagers and children ran away screaming. My mother was so panicked, she kept trying to calm Helena down, saying that my father couldn’t see her like that.” Draco became increasingly upset while he was telling his story, and I wasn’t sure if he would be able to continue. In no time, they were both out of their offending clothes, kissing and grinding against each other's naked bodies, moans escaped both their lips with every contact their bodies made.
